Or play Doom/Crisis with tech for everything (1x HAB for row disruption, 1x Time Thief for silver bullets, 1x Political Pressure for weenie tech/Frankie Raye disruption, etc). Tech in 1x Supermanhunter for the TDC Stall match-up and play smartly. Closest thing to a "perfect" deck that I've seen out there.
Pcq season is a lot easier than the PC, at least you know what you're facing. Just figure out what you'll be playing against and make a deck to beat those decks. Thats what I did, and ended up playing a deck with 25 1-ofs and about 20 search cards. Unfortunately I ended up in the same boat as deranged bear and lost to skrull in the last round of the swiss and then had to play the same guy again in the top 8 and with the damn 60 minute best of 3 round my bad matchup became unwinnable as time was called on turn 1 of game 3 (not good for my control deck). But im getting away from the point, you can play just about anything in golden as long as you put some time into figuring out how you can make your deck beat whats in the meta, and how it can beat unknown decks. Plenty of room for ingenuity, my opponents had no idea what I was doing all game long and aside from the damn 60 minute top 8 rounds !!!! I had a lot of fun with my pile.

Poison Ivy/ Franklin Richards + Savage Beatdown+ Ronan= WTF!!!
Anyway Tnb Reservists is very fun to play and i would recommend it if you are stuck. I dont know about Crisis Doom Tho, maybe the people at our Pcq werent playing it right but all of them were on the botttom tables.
PEACE!!
who cares about matchups anyway? Just play a deck with good cards and the matchups will take care of themselves. The more you try to "beat" a particular deck the worse your deck gets against the rest of the field.
TDB, you will know what i mean. Find the next finkel, not the next napster.
Yeah. What if the deck you're not comfortable with auto-loses to something? And then the only way you get comfortable with a deck is to play with it...:)
I think every deck auto-loses to something. The point of testing is to gain familiarity with your deck. Test your deck against all the most played decks so you know what play is best in certain situations. You will make fewer mistakes, and it will lessen the time spent deep in thought during your matches.
Play the most straightfoward deck you can think of, and add hate. TA, Flame Trap, Absolute Dominance, Reality Gem, Have a Blast!, Death in the Family, heck, if you're that worried, H'ronmeer's Curse.
Furthermore I Suspect people are underestimating a fair number of the new cards. Mobilize will turn some mediocre hate decks into solid gameplan decks by giving them enough slots that they don't get run over by random stuff.
Speaking of losing to skrulls I played against skrulls round 1 in LA and lost because of Mob Mentality+Wolverine is huge trumps on terrax (4) and terrax (6)... such is life, metagame tech decks will lose to non-metagame decks.
Everything in GA right now is beatable, which is frustrating if you're trying to build the perfect deck, and either hope no one else finds it, or learn to play it better than anyone else, but its quite rewarding if instead you try and metagame well, figure out what people will and won't play and go from there.
Hating Golden Age!!?!! It's my favorite format! This is because I get to run my favorite deck. Force! Follow this link. It's my favorite build for Force. I clean the flour with it at hobby league. http://vs.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?ID=7515
I've already decided on my deck. All that's left is to practice the deck.
Question: Should I post a tournament report if I scrub out of the PCQ?
No reason not to, especially if you dont know what you did wrong. That gives players a chance to re-evaluate some of the plays you may have seen as questionable, or we can at least read through and ask questions regarding the matches you lost.
