Not counting the stuff I bought as a store owner, or drafts I have been in, I have bought 5-12 boxes per set for myself. I've also bought most of the EAs I did not get since I started HL late. I've also bought a ton of singles, each of those collector boxes, at least 2 of each starter. When I found the old X-Men and Batman starters the other day I bought 3 each, just for the extra cards and to teach new people with.

I've also bought one or two of each playmat. But then again I also pay $80 for 5 rook cases to hold my tins, and I make sure my sleeves are top notch for each deck I have (one or two for each team printed, and a few mixed team decks) Folders to page all my cards (mostly to sort my commons so I can find what I want.) and I used to buy a box each set for a friend (His birthday, and Christmas falls close enough to releases, the other times I was just being nice.)

I'v bought 10 boxes of Marvel Origins, a box of Web of Spider Man (sad, yes) 1 box of X-men, and two boxes of Heralds.

I spend a minimum of 150$ per set and a max of 300$ per set. I mostly buy singles, but I get on average 1-2 boxes for draft purposes.

To keep it in perspective, think of how much money you'd spend on other vices. (smoking, drinking (including bars), poker, movies, video games (and their systems etc. etc.)

Presumably this is something you enjoy, that hurts virtually noone. (supposing of course that you aren't trying to feed your kids with left over common and uncommons.....heaven forbid they eat a rare..;))

As long as your living within your goals and means (despite the glaring difference between what those "means" are for aceswolf and, say, myself), and enjoying yourself, then you needn't worry too much about the specific dollar amount.

I get around 3 boxes per set which works out to about $300 per set. Then I buy a load of singles as well. Basically I spend what I need to get a playset of everything. Singles probably add up to $100 per set.

Then there's all the travelling n stuff. Ouch.

Including travel expenses and other events, roughly 3000$cdn since August of 2005.

Ok I never Factored the traveling exspences or weekly play or sneak previewsor PCQs . So my total now is drum roll please 27,550.00. Some of you didn't put down totals come on now . Just to infor people I did this thread because . I really want people to realize that you spend money on this game because you like to play . Spread the VS LOVE .

I get most of my cards for judging, and then either trade for the rest, or borrow/loan cards with my friends if I need something specific for an upcoming tournament.

roughly 6 drafts a month + pcq fees(I hardly buy singles) adds up to about S$140 a month. Say, US$80.

Right around the three grand mark for me. Quite a bit for a 15 year old I suppose.

I havent bought vs packs sinse avengers, I do a pcq every month, every prelease and a flight, every pc and 4ish 10ks a year wich is usually enough cards from any set and if not theres a awsome local store that has rares for like 2-3$ after a set comes out. In 2006 I spent 400$ on entry fees and 2000ish traveling ( I missed san fran ) and won a little over 12k, I dont have a team so I get to keep it all :). I unfortunatly do all my drafting online so I probally spend less on cards than the average guy but you only really need to spend a load on vs if you want 4 of everything ect.

I Have 4 normal and 2 foil of ever card and then some I have to be one of the largest buy of VS system stock .:cool:
