Since I have to drive 2 and a half hours (and over a mountain pass or two) the single format PCQ's have = not worth the trip. THe PCQ's have been predominantly sealed and why would I want to waste that much $$$ in gas to get randomly lucksacked with a bad batch of 5 packs. At least with split format I could bring the kids along (who enjoyed sealed) and I could play in constructed.


Edit - Also, the frequency has not increased.

Was that the Sunday PCQ in Huntsville? Some of the guys from Atlanta were thinking about going, but starting a PCQ on Sunday at 2PM (I think it was 2) was just too late, considering the travel time involved.

Honestly - that pretty much shuts out anyone who wants to travel but also works.

Saturdays are better, and if you have to have it on Sunday... try starting at 10 or 11. Of course, here in the South... well, I won't even get into the church discussion. :rolleyes:

It was actually in Tulsa, OK. We started at noonish.

But I'm definitely with you on the 2pm being too late to begin. That would irritate me, for sure.

The Honolulu PCQs began this whole one format PCQing way before so I'm glad everybody's enjoying it. More attendance is always nice.

I dont have a problem with the one format only thing is I hope this will lead to more PCQs in the area which it has not

What's happening right now is that single format PCQs are run alongside WoW tournaments. Which is bad.

If the increased frequency does happen as scheduled, then it could be good.

But running two different games concurrently is a terrible choice in my opinion, ecspecially for people who play both.

All of our PCQs have been ran at the same time as Yugio and that has worked out well

But I do think if its during WOW we will see a smaller player base at the PCQs
