OThe year is 4 days old and there are a ton of OP changes that are going into effect in '07 - you might want to give them a couple weeks or something. But I understand if that's asking too much.
They pre-announced these changes back in October, remember? There's no good reason that UDE should keep people waiting any longer considering they've already been waiting three months for this information (and in a more accurate sense, people have been waiting for some of it for a lot longer than three months).
If they're keeping it under wraps at this point, they're stupid. If they still haven't gotten things scheduled, they're incompetent. Neither of these is a particularly good option.

How do they ussually release this information?
Metagame.
They are still CURRENTLY reprinting articles ... nothing new has gone up in 2007. So in the 'stupid or incompetent' issue ... at least wait until ANYTHING new is posted on Metagame before basically insulting them in hopes that will get stuff up faster.

I think his point isn't what they will announce when they announce it so much as, they announced they would announce this and they still haven't. The changes were announced to effect 2007, its 2007 and still no announcement. Things have changed, we haven't been brought into the loop. That they are still reprinting articles on MetaGame and not bringing us up to speed is the issue. A press release should have already been drawn up and approved before the end of 2006 and should have been released prior to the announced date of the changes "2007". That this information has not been forthcoming leads to the contention that those releasing this information are either incompetent at performing their duties (this could include upper management who failed to properly organize, reorganize, or allocate staff to attend this issue), or that they (UDE) has a total disregard for its customer base, or at least its organized player base.
While I would prefer to believe none of the above, it is not an unfounded concern.
######'# or some other pizza joints advertise 30 minute delivery. If they don't deliver in 30 minutes you begin to lose faith in their ability to do so, and may seek out a more reliable source for your pizza needs.
Perception is reality, and at the very least this issue has been poorly handled, if fine tuning is still going into the program, or some other hurdle which we the customers are unaware of has presented itself, UDE in their own self interest should at least have made an effort to update us, and show us they care.
Has UDE advertised a time limit on their release of information though?
To my knowledge they haven't.
They need to give information about the new PC structures before the next PC.
Ditto the 50K structure before a 50K occurs.
City Championships before Marvel Team-up is released.
If UDE was recently hiring some new people, which we have heard they were doing, perhaps they are getting all their ducks in a row first?
If they release a press release that only addresses SOME of the issues but doesn't say anything about the hobby league EAs for the past few months that haven't been distributed ...
They have a lot of stuff to cover, and an 'early' press release before EVERYTHING is finalized would be irresponsible.
I'd rather wait to get all the information than feel patronized by a "fine, here's something, now be quiet" quicky press release that doesn't say anything except that, yes, there is in fact someone in charge of making press releases.
You know the more that I think about it, the more I wonder if they are ingnoring the VS player in order to get them to get into WoW, since that is what UDE is trying to push now. I mean if the get out of giving the prize support and the major events they would kinda figure that a lot of players would get out of VS and follow the rest of the groups to WoW.
I guess I will find out how true that may be in the months to come, huh?

Um well the changes effect 2007 including Hobby League which I already could have played in so. In my admittedly biased opinion yeah they advertised 2007 as the date.

So if you were picking someone up at the airport and their plane didn't land you would rather the airline meet your requests for information with blank stares as opposed to at least feigned concern and pasifiing words "we are looking into this sir"?
And if you were expecting a package and it didn't arrive, you wouldn't want to have it tracked you'd rather just wait and hope it eventually arrives?
If your date was running late you'd rather he just get there when he gets there rather than give you a call and let you know he's running late?

People have already made this assumption on a number of things.
Actively driving people from one of the games UDE produces to another is ridiculous.
Also, many of the people that work on each game do NOT overlap ... thus it's not like they have to split their focus between the two games.
And the people in UDE that DO have to focus on both games ... well, with 1 more game [assuming the person handled more than Vs. before] they have less attention to put on Vs. This has nothing to do with conspiracy or corporate strategy but simply, if your job went from handling 3 games to handling 4 games, you can't spend the same ammount of time on the 3 games as you originally did ... it's not possible.
By adding WoW, they take SOME focus away from Vs.
And speaking of WoW ...
The last 'news article' on that website was Dec 21st. It announced the next few sets to be released [with a timeline similar to Hellboy, Marvel Team-up and World's Finest] and to 'look forward' to various events.
Since then, they've just been throwing up art previews for the next set [nothing of the cards effects, just the images for the cards].
So WoW, in that case, is getting no more than what Vs. has been getting.
That's his one trick, we can't take that away from him. Pony gotta ride.
Stu are you trying to imply that chdb is Sane.
Because "Isn't sanity really just a one trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy…ooh hoo hoo hoo…the sky's the limit!"
Is that what you are saying for if so then.
Spooooon!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled debate.

At the same time ... trying the same thing over and over and over again, but expecting different results is INsane.
Then again, inflamable and flamable mean the same thing. So maybe Arkham has to let all the crazy people go.

If the sky is the limit, why is it always falling?
