I found Avengers for $288 a case, Man of Steel $179 a case, and Green Lantern Corpse $299 a case.

I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it's one of the funniest things I've read all day.

I think a case is overkill.
There's really no reason to have 4 of every single rare. I mean.. do you really need 4 Otherworldly Battle? 4 Kyle Rayner ~ Torch Bearer? 4 Lady Deathstrike, 4 Mr. Sinister, 4 Wayne Enterprises? etc.. etc.. etc..

I usually buy 2 boxes, then play in enough events to get approximately another box or 2, and then I go on ebay and spend a bit to get the rest of the rares I'd actually play with.

This leaves me with a playset or more of the good rares, and 4 of every common and uncommon (with maybe having to bug my friends for the last 2 or 3 uncommons).

My ebay totals per set are usually low (about the same as a box) unless there's a chase rare like Mobilize.

Seriously though. I buy a case every time and I still agree with you. If I weren't such a diehard collector, I could save myself a lot of $$. When I think about the rares I actually play on a regualr basis as opposed to the rares I own...it makes me kinda sad. (Well, not too sad. Cuz then I go and look at my collection and I'm happy again. Geek Power!)

I would by singles, but my parents won't let me. So I blow even more mula on boxes in hopes of getting them.

After buying cases, and box after box I found the cheapest way to get what you want is- Buy two or three boxes, then hit ebay and some online stores that sell card singles and for about $30 or $40 you can get almost everything you want, if not everything. I still buy packs for sealed and a pack here and there when I get my comics, which also fill in the gaps if any, or give me extra cards to trade or to have something extra for decks I am toying with.

MOR on theo ther hand I still buy a box every year, just for the cover fired, and the like since I aways run low after a while. And the chance to get an extra Savage beatdown is nice, since some new people do not have it and will trade something I want for something they need.

This time it was quite intentional.
