so has roy won much of anything in the pcq scene, cause all i hear about is moloids and doom. why ban a card that doesnt win anything or have any impact on the metagame
No No No, if I got a penny for every TNNB article on the net in the past month and a half I just might have a dollar!
I mean, let's talk about this...Why is it that people continuely write about the same #### weekly?!
Cause people are too lazy to test/build new decks for the PCQ season?
Quick rundown of my experience with Titans.
Against Doom: With Lorena/Argus you can find NTZ pretty easy on four. If you have the right initiatives you can use Garth to recur it turns 6+ - no need to play it on five cause if your opponent Reigns you, he'll have to play Doom which means that his board hasn't really grown and he doesn't have Garth which is key. Although depending on the situation, you may NTZ. It's at your discretion. If your opponent plays Doomstadt/Slaughter Swamp/Avalon/Soul World on turns 3-4 you win because you can fetch your Ka-Boom, and keep them down one resource. This is huge: I haven't seen a Crisis Doom deck that ran a back-up three or four. Your opponent is then forced to either replay them, or to under drop some weak stuff like San/Surfer that allows you to ream their board.
Moloids is also a lot easier then I thought once you get a feel for the match-up. Dominance does nothing here, but RFC is golden. The match-up is kinda iffy because you are the aggressor - their engine sets them up for inevitability - but you also need to play defensive to control Zazzalla damage. Winning involves a) Stunning Zazzalla - if you can follow it up with a RFC gravy b) Stunning 2-3 of your opponents guys on turn four - so you can keep Tattoo'd man from going out of control c) Having a NTZ on four. It's not that hard in application. I think you want evens for this match-up so you can TTG Terra and stun multiples. It also sets up for using Roy on five. This is not to mention how often Moloids can implodes - drawing too many Moloids, awkward EomEs, clunky resource row.
You'd be surprised how often people forget about Starfire. She's a mighty good answer to Tattooed Man.
The real reason is VS writers aren't meeting together to plan out what they write each week. Sometimes a particular issue is "hot" so a lot of people jump on it. TNB had one guy do really well with it in LA. That's why it's getting some press (despite being an awful deck).
If you don't like it, then support writers who do produce stuff you enjoy by giving them feedback. Nobody's getting paychecks you can live off of for doing this stuff, so knowing people are reading is the best incentive for writers to write more.
They can't ban JJJ, UDE only ban rare cards under extreme circumstance. If they are to ban JJJ, they will have to make a fair version of him in Marvel Teamup.
