The smell that your smelling is a more processed form of ink that you get when you smell a highlighter or black felt.

The smell is a combintion of inks, fresh cardboard, and various production line scents, like oil in the machinery.

The same phenomenon used to be for the "New Car Smell", until advances in science have allowed "air odor analyzers to pick up when particulates are in the air, making that exact smell.

If you are ever rich enough, go to a bank or casino, and ask for $500, paid in a mint bundle of $5 bills. Make sure it is mint form the...well, mint. Smell that, and it has a similar scent of printing press inks. (I know his because I work in the count room/vault of a casino. I loves me the smell of new money!)

So, to make a long answer short, a new pack of Vs cards smells like money. Fresh, crisp money!
