It would be awesome if they didn't make you buy f***ing FAKE cards. To me, that's more f*** up than anything. The stuffs gonna get deleted in a server crash I bet. Other than that the combat looks cool, and online tournaments look fun. I still wouldn't want to spend $30.00 on the game then several hundred dollars on fake cards when you could get real stuff.
If you allow me to use UDE Points from new packs of VS cards to buy packs of virtual cards, I will forever herald you as the best company on the planet, and will play your game until the end of time.

P.S. I will play your game until the end of time anyway.
Very good argument. My problem is, the on-line tournaments probably won't have any dough for prizes. I'm probably the only one that has a problem with this, because I only earn $Not.Much every week. For all of the other gamers with a deeper pocket, it's probably fine. But I still think it's just kinda silly when you could be getting real stuff. If they would let you somehow take the game to a PC and play with it, that would be cool.

YOU ARE F***ING AWESOME!!! I never thought of that. It would be great! If they did that, I might buy a DS for the sole purpose of playing.
Personally, I don't care much about it, but it is good for the game and for UDE in general. It crosses VS over to videogamers/comic fans who are not interested in CCGs, which may peak their interest enough to actually buy the product and play the real game.
I might consider it if I really need a VS fix, but right now nothing's better than playing the real thing :)
news flash, ude is in the business of selling stuff.
Well I wasn't thinking about a 1:1 basis. But, like, for every 5 packs of MTU you buy, you can get one pack online. You buy a box, you get ~5 online packs. Not enough to keep your online habit on par with your RL habit, but enough to get you to try it out, and make you want to spend more.
I think the sole purpose of this video game is to drag video gamers out of their parents basement to local venues to play for real.
I can't imagine this game sustaining itself on its own. I consider it more of the video game tutor for the real thing. With rules being as complex as they are i can bet the AI is going to be pretty terrible and i can only imagine what priority and chains must look like.
I'm recommending this game to all my video game friends so they can come with me to future sneak peaks. Good for getting the basics down but thats about all i think.
I'm really stoked about this game... counting down the days until its release actually.
I have a feeling that much of VS future is riding on this game. UDE seems to be trying to tie in more "mainstream" characters and teams in the next few Marvel (and DC) sets to coincide with the launch. I'll be doing my part and buying not just one, but two copies of the game (and maybe more if we get some kind of Promo goodness packaged with it).
I just hope everyone else gets behind this venture and supports UDE for the sake of VS. The game is cheaper than a box of Legions... and you're still buying that nonsense!
Any real VS player is going to get bored with it quickly. Cutting your card pool in half (actually less than half since there is no MHG OR MTU) will be too annoying for veteran players.
Does anybody really want to go back to Curve Sentinels and Avengers again? I'm glad that period is over, i dont want to go back and revisit it. This game is for video gamers that have never touched a VS deck before. At least thats the way i see it. A product designed to reach a different target audience.
Will i play it.... yes. Will i play it longer then a couple weeks... probably not. Been there, done that, moved on.
It's missing DCR, MHG, DLS, and MTU. That sucks on high.
Actually, it is missing ALL of the DC universe stuff (DOR, DMS, DGL, DJL, DCR, DLS) and of course everything Marvel after Avengers. After all, it is called the MARVEL trading card video game.
