Is Lazy Peon popular? Around where I am (SoCal), I heard no one turned out for it.
Lazy Peon is a bad format for a game with only one set.
Scheduling it as the "scrub-out" event at Regionals was not a way to build a winner, either. No one plans to scrub out. Scheduling it at 1 PM (effectively, after two rounds of Swiss, assuming a good start time) virtually ensures that you will have no players.
I suspect it will work fine as a marquee event, where it's the only format to get a good game. I don't know if TNB is unstoppable, but it's probably pretty close.
