Well according to Konami Europe's website the game is only scheduled for release on the PSP and Windows. Though if you check a distributor website like one you'd see on your local High Street. It's due sometime this month for the PSP and DS which shows hope. I'm guessing if you can pre-order it, it's coming out over here at some point.

Anyone confirm that it is in stores today in the USA? I may have to stop at GameStop on the way home...

it ships today 5/22 and hits shelves 5/23.

I'm aquainted with one of the programmers for this game, he told me that a lot of compromise had to go into the DS version because it lacks the power of the PSP. We will lose sound effects and maybe some graphics because of it. Overall it should be OK, but after hearing this I became a little worried that us DS users would get a stunted product. We will see when tomorrow comes!

Ahhh, thanks BorisVonUsky. I am hoping the gameplay is there as online may be my only way to play the game. Graphics and sound are second for me but it would be a shame if it does not look nice.

from what I understand it still has the look, they just had to sacrafice a few bits of the program in order to make it work.

Oh, and just so you know I took a look at Best Buy today at lunch, still no sign of it. They may have them (didn't ask) but they are not on the shelf yet.

I'm hoping that they put them out tonight before closing. If not tomorrow is the day!

Aww not that's a shame. I hope it doesn't affect the gameplay or style of it too much to make it a patchy blocky affair. As long as it's manageable and easy enough to use I'm okay with it. I'll still be on board. Sound effects and animation loss is a little upsetting but it's probably still not going to ruin my enjoyment of it.

As long as I don't see the PSP version i should be fine.

I'll stop at GameStop this afternoon. If anyone gets it from BestBuy or some other chain, please post and include any initial thoughts.

I'll just add my own sound effects as usual, even the usual weird looks won't stop me doing so.

I've been playing this for the last two hours and I may never leave the house again.

I'm already loving the 'puzzles' during the tutorial and the first few chapters of the game (on Hero Mode, natch). I'll eventually figure out how to do the WiFi thing, I'm sure. But right now, it's great and totally worth the wait. I have no comparisons between this and the PC and/or PSP versions, having not played them. Sometimes the cards are a bit difficlt to see, and the interface is a smidge awkward so far, but I'm having a blast!

And the EA Armageddon was a pleasant bonus!

Where did you get your copy of the game? I went to Best Buy today and they told me they were not going to have it until 5/29 (and only 4 copies at that!).

Yea, it's one of the reasons I'm actually buying the game (actually, I'm getting 2 copies, one for me and one for my niece - she gets the cartridge, I get the EA!)
