Yea it's right in the middle of the curve argument you kick in with 'Like most ones?' I say yep like most unplayable ones. The most played ones in curve decks have an ability that allows them to use an ability from the hand (Mikado, The Dwarf, Dagger) or are alternatly recruited, or in the case of Boris, Alfred, Connie Webb, Lockjaw or Ted Cord, that make sure you hit your mulligan/win conditions.

Surely you have to go off curve to play changeling unless you play him on turn 1?
I call him not very good in the scenarios that were orginally described in the thead. I argued he isn't very good in a curve deck. You may think so I don't. Deal with it. I think you are reading some emotion in my posts that just isn't there. Just because you call a card, 'good' by your standards doesn't mean it's good by everyone else's standards and vice versa. Learn to agree, 'to disagree' or at the very least read the intent and context of other's posts.
Actually I have argued that he isn't very good because he has too many dependancies and have argued that he is situationally good. There is a big difference between those ideas and this card is GREAT! Your strongest arguement so far is that you can discard him to Signal Flare, you know you can discard any FF card to Signal Flare, but by that argument the 3-Drop Spider-man or FF Lockjaw are also super playable.
Well, since my thread got some notice, I will have to jump in as well.
Any 1 drop that has an ability better be worth playing. Boris is great. Even Alfred. If you hit, they do something great for you.
This HERBIE only makes equip cheaper to play. You have to have equipment, a character worth playing it on AND hit him on turn 1 or 2 in a curve deck. Why am I going to make a short curve equipment deck. You know what decks work like that? Squadron because they get HUGE bonuses for going through their hand like nothing.
I was hoping he was from hand, because he was rare. That would be balanced. You still need equipment and you still need to draw him when you have that equipment. Cheating the equipment resource would be fun. Unfortunately keeping a 1 drop around, uh, not so easy now.
3 drop Magneto says you are losing a character if you play a 1 drop. If you don't have your equipment by that turn, or you don't want to waste it, HERBIE goes bye-bye.
Namorita would have been an amazing card if it worked from hand. Uh, now its eh. Sure much more playable, because you don't require equipment, just a card in your KO'd pile. Meaning by turn 3 you better have used that enemy or mobilize from hand to make it worth it, because she is leaving play one way or another.
I have 2 Herbies and 1 Namorita from the boxes I opened. I thought they were amazing. Now, you can have them. What do you have to trade?
HERBIE is meh, but I think Namorita is awesome. There will be tons of times she hangs around till 4, be it against stall or her 4 DEF, or 3-drop Sue (or any other concealed 3-drop) not enabling two stuns. Not having any loyalty restrictions only helps her for her splash quality, and people have happily paid 2+ resource points to reuse a PT in the past. And there are lots of cards that are killer to be able to reuse this set, enough to consider under-dropping her later on, like Firewall, Mystic Paralysis (as usual), Only Human, Body Slide, and of course any of the searches or big combat pumps. I guarantee you will see Namorita/Cable + Bodyslide combos everywhere.

Only if "everywhere" means "very seldomly". Seriosuly, is there a place where I can actually bet on this? Easy money. :) :)

In an off-curve FF deck that uses Fantasticar, H.E.R.B.I.E. might have his uses. The thing is, if you spend resources points on this guy you have to get something equitable in return. That's why his best use is in an off curve deck where the loss of his ATK, 1 Resource Point and board position equates to several other characters getting an ATK Boost. He's only good if he provides a net gain and even then it seems like he would be more useful in multiples on the kill turn. (unless the new Fantasticar is C/O)

well, everywhere is relative of course, if you take the few places left to play Vs. into account. But being able to get an extra burn or two via Namorita should be worth the effort in decks that are going that route.
Herbie has his place in a fat bat deck, once you start playing a child named valeria he will not stun, then you can remove him from game to make your catcher's mitt free
i know this is janky but what about herbie on 1 then on 3 play cable on 4 underdrop 3 drop marvel and bodyslide the 1st herbie to replay another herbie then on 5 you can drop the 2 cost equip where you get +3+3 for every character in combot wit it not saying this is gonna go tier 1 or anything but people lighten up herpie (yes your reading right) is a fun card has potential and its a "bank card"
What am I missing here? Bodyslide can't get around the fact that you have to remove her from the game to use her ability, can it?
No, she allows you to Bodyslide more often and burn more with Cable. A quick example:
Turn 5, you have a Cable in play already. You Bodyslide him, recruit Namorita and remove her to get the Bodyslide back, recruit another Cable, Bodyslide him. She just allows you to reuse the PT and kill faster, since you don't need to have two copies of BS in hand or row to get the burn off.
