We still have a bunch in Toronto. Unfortunately we cannot muster enough people to draft on a regular basis. Infact, I believe I've only drafted mvl once with 5 people (including myself...sigh). We have two stores which sell them one for $75 plus tax, the other for $70 no tax (which is where I buy my usual half case).
really? i thought there's more vs players in toronto. here in vancouver we would draft every other week, we always have at least 8 people. this past sunday we played sealed.
i personally haven't bought a box but i have played in every sealed/draft since MVL came out.
well, MVL sells well because they kept it simple. you can easily build a deck off the set or you can splash the cards with other sets. unlike other sets which would have specialized themes like Mutant Traits or Willpower that you will never hear of again after the said set.
Hey now... weren't you the one who said you can't judge the sales by this forum since it represents a very small portion of the overall customer base?
I've sold less of this set box and single-wise but I think that has more to do with my player demographics.
But I do hope this "sold-out" thing is a trend in most places and that MVL actually becomes a hard set to find for the first print run to convince the higher-ups at UDE to continue with VS. If this happens with DC Legends too... that would definitely help.
I do wonder though when UDE sets actually sell through. I used to get solicitations for DWF and MTU well after the initial release date but not anymore. Does that mean UDE has no more to sell or that it's just not offering any more? I can still order MVL direct but usually that will stop close to when the next set releases.
If you check the UDE store you can buy the last 2 sets of DC and the last 2 sets of Marvel before MVL. There is no MVL available. This I find a little weird considering its been out for a while now.
I heard from our Local Hobby Store owner (Empire's Comics Vault, Sacramento CA) is that the West Coast distributors were out of MVL. He has said he managed to order MVL boxes from an East Coast distributor.
