I've recently had the thought that they should change plasticity so that all figures within the characters range and line-of-sight treat that character as adjacent for purposes of movement.
This would stop (non-flying) chargers and depending on the figures range would also require flying chargers to break away from them to charge.

Really interesting idea, but I know I'd use V Mr. Fantastic and his eight range to irritate the hell out of my opponent. Here, let me charge into the backfield and tie up all your support pieces. It's a little too brutal.
I do agree with the spirit of the initial post. As it stands plasticity really isn't that useful. The ability to tie up a flyer's ranged attacks would be a welcome counter. That Doombot won't shoot too well if Sandman's got it enveloped.
