I was lucky enough to get both of those cards in my MEX pack, and offhand, I'd say Strategic THInking is good for characters that can come into play in Swarms, while Call in a Favor is good for decks that need a searcher and aren't willing to worry about letting your opponent hit their curve.
BTW, since I only bought my Galactus pack for fun sake (I'm the only steady player left for 8 hours drive in any direction), I'm willing to break up my Galactus deck if anyone wants extras of any cards.
Stu, if you want a copy of Strategic Thinking, or any Punisher Squadron cards, let me know. We can work out a trade. I'll have my list up in the trade section eventually.
but does it make the future foes bully theme doable? I can reasonably see 1 copy burning for 12 damage in that deck.
4 X Busted Knee, 4X This card. Seems solid that you'll have 2 of either of these cards consistently to go for the kill. Not half bad at all. Might work now.
Call in a Favour isn't an engine card. It's apples and oranges.
Also, AGL's have left Silver and Modern. I don't think it MATTERS how sick a deck you can build with it, since if this game has a future, it's not going to be Golden Age (the format has reached breaking point on degeneracy).
Edit: 'Casual Golden Age' may well be the wave of the future, but decks that consistently crush you like a bug unless you're on their power level, which you can't do with newer ("fair") cards... are not.
Trying to make broken single set or modern age decks is something you don't feel so bad about, because there's still going to be less of a power discrepancy.
They both help my opponent... I don't want that. haha
But if I have to choose [the "lesser evil"], I'll pick Strategic Thinking. I rather give my opponent's character/s +1/+1counters than helping him with his drops...:D
The basic Galactus cards are tourney legal. The extended cards are also tourney legal. At least, thats how I understand it. But one card in this set MUST be limited to ONLY the MCG decks.
The new character that says Activate => remove him from the game. Bring him back into play.
I coulpdn't think of the wonderful uses for him at first. Ok, so he is a free reset. Maybe even a free reset on every attack if what I read about the card is correct. But now team that up with Strategic Thinking. Team it up with Zzala..... this is infinity times borken if the spoiler I read was right.
Does anyone know if there is any logic to the distribution of call in a favor? I noticed that Call in a Favor was the top card on one prize pack. Is that the same for Strategic Thinking as well?
Haven't read the entire thread, I may be repeating someone, but I think Call in a Favor is great against Galactus. You can help your teammates and Galactus can't search for a card [since they're all unaffiliated]... That's good for me. :D hehe
Other than that, Strategic Thinking is still better. haha
Both are excellent in terms of what they bring to individual decks.
In terms of what they bring to the game as a whole, Call in a Favor is another way team-based yet not team-stamped tutor, and that makes the game as a whole more cohesive and easier for new/budget players to play.
