I played in both actually. In Silver I ran the Teen Supremes trick with Haywire and Quicksilver, knocking my opponents to 15 END or less on turn 3 most of the time, but then not having the bringing power to finish them off afterwards :(
And in Modern I ran the Secret Society for the Justice League of Crime Lords in service to the Marvel Knights. It was a last minute decision out of nerves because of the fear of my deck acting stupid again and Riddler crippling me beyond repair.
like i tell every one of my homies that i play against dont think ur deck is gonna do well every game and always go with ur first choice as u never know what will happen untill u try
Oh, don't get it twisted, the deck works nearly all the rest of the time. It is usually consistent, with enough search (I thought) and k.o. pile manipulation, but when you don't draw, nor see a way to get a team up until turn 8-9, what are you supposed to do? And then when your opponent top decks literally the only way for him to win..?
It happens, I know. It doesn't make the deck less of a solid deck, it just makes it look rotten when it happens, and it happening unnerved me too much to play it. In retrospect, I shouldn't have caved so easily, but oh well, right? Whatchagonnado?
So I've been hunting for a BYOS deck for our Marquee, and I'm thinking this is the one. I like all of the tricks I've seen. But there are obvious questions:
1) Flying Kick / Combat Reflexes / Tarnax IV: Not MTU. Can they be easily replaced? I'm thinking 4x Rabbit Fire/Justice Is Served/Big Leagues. But Zzzax Attacks/Siege of Darkness are possible (although not for the turn). And I'm wondering if Imperious Rex could be a 1-2 of?
2) How does this "Eat Concealed Decks Alive?" Sure, Hawkeye/Blackheart eats some low-drops, but I'm not seeing it. Should the quote actually be "This beats Concealed decks easily because of the multiple attacks and huge butts."?
3) The list is 4 months old. Any updates or thoughts?
Well, honestly, Wonder Woman is soooooo good that I've decided to just not fear her. If I see JLA I'll just play my curve and pray for rain. Hopefully I won't face her. If this were for anything important, I'd be more concerned. And, at worst, I just stack Soul Slicer onto her recruit and team into her.
The combat pumps are pretty easily replaced. Soul Survival is your bread and butter, though.
Concealed decks get their field controlled and then hit directly in the face for too much most of the time for them to pull it back together in my experience and even SinSynRush type decks can't handle Hawkeye and Blackheart eating their drops, which is MOSTLY the same problem concealed decks have, since on turn 3, Hakweye takes out their 2 drop during Build and on the stunback (I have increased my numbers of Soul Survival when I made this for BYOS) he bounces their 3 usually. On 4, Blackheart k.o.'s the opposing 2/3 depending on what the opponent plays, and Hawkeye usually gets a whipping right here unless their is an opposing 1 drop for him to get rid of as well. 5 is Hellstorm, and SamPar subs in for Blackheart, and USUALLY Red Guardian in for Hawkeye. Blackrose can exhaust for the Soul Survival IF you need it, otherwise she is a double power up for somebody. Against a hidden deck you're looking at between 20 and 40 direct damage on turn 5.
And Handflood doesn't hurt too bad since you have so much redundancy that you get to dump a lot to either substitute or power ups.
Superman/Batman hurts a bit, but what do you do, right? That damn indestructible is a nuisance!
I love UW/Defenders. I run a version which focuses less on the backup tricks and more on the team-up enabled PTs, ie soul survival/ strange love. Soul survival + madelyne/surfer on 6 = clearing your opponent's board turn after turn.

I guess.
