Now see I'd heard rumors of Crystar the Crystal Warrior or He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, but not Amethyst Princess of Gem World, cool so we'll see another version of Mordru.

He-Man is getting the Hellboy treatment, so don't expect to see him in the next DC set.
I believe that Ben had mentioned the next DC set will probably get a similar fan voting treatment. With more time between sets they can pad the post World's/post MUN "timeline" with some voting to keep people excited, hopefully bridging the gap until more Mega Weekends, and finally a few solid months of previews.
I am, there are so many things that could be in there. I loved the Hellboy set. It was a great starter for most people. They also should do more starters, and have them basicly a Precon of a team, with NO NEW cards! So if someone wants to play a TT deck, there will be cards expanding all sets, and have 1 rare in it.
I think that the next essentials collection should be Star Wars. Get Dark Horse in there!
Dark Horse doesn't own the Star Wars IP, they lease it from Lucasfilm. They do not have the right to re-sell the rights to a third party like UDE. That permission would have to come from LF itself. And since LF doesn't have the rights to the comics Dark Horse makes, any Star Wars VS cards would need to be licensed from LF, and would be movie-based, not comic-based.
All that said: UDE would never make a non-comic-based VS set, and LF wouldn't license its cards out into an existing game.
