First we need to get a good idea of numbers and of people willing to travel. I know that a number of the italian players were egar to travel.
I think there are 2 options
1) Highjack a games convention that is already happening that way venue is all sorted, and details on getting there will be clear. If the vast majority of players are UK based then we have GENCON UK (Reading), Manchester (Game), and perhaps Dragonmeet (London, 1 day event) of the top of my head, probably more.
2) Sort out a venue ourselves that has the best transport links for all players, meaning a major city. This requires a lot of work, but would mean the location/ venue would be better suited to players needs i.e cost and plenty of time. The location should be the most convenient for those who have the furthest to travel. Airport and train links

In France we are planning to hold this summer a French Championship either in Paris or in Lyon
Hey, I've not played VS in France yet! more details please.
There is also a Sheduled VS event at Manchester at Game 08, so organising the European championships on the Saturday would be good for a weekend of gaming. It would also save money for the people coming from far away to the vs, so instead of flying over here twice, it is just once.
Yeah, I was gonna say that There is an official UK event this year- at Game 08. I want to set up a poll so we can vote on the format. Only problem is that I'm an idiot and I can't see how to set up a poll ;)

Seeing all these European VS players post here is so encouraging.
I do like the idea of piggybacking one onto a gamer convention but I know how hard it is to logistically do that sometimes (like restrictions the Con has on entry fees, gaming space etc).
