Might be worth specifying this ruling in the next version of the CRD-- that seriously does read as "resolves while looking at old gamestate", even when I read it knowing what it really does. Just a note at the end to clarify that they resolve at "now".
Suggested modifications in red:
Quote
502.4 Triggered powers that trigger off an object becoming stunned, leaving play, or causing breakthrough look back to the game state at the moment right before the object became stunned, left play, or caused breakthrough. This information is used only to determine whether they could have triggered off that event and whether they did; resolution of the effect does not look back to this point, and resolves normally in the current gamestate. Powers that trigger off a character or equipment leaving play will ignore whether that power’s text is currently inactive when determining whether or not they should trigger; this is an exception to rule 701.12f.
I feel like a noob, I completely played it the other way thinking Sinestro's ability was useless against my friends X-men "Bamf!" or any of the other "team attackers cant be stunned" plot twists like "Legendary Battles" and "Dynamic Duo". This'll come in handy next card night! (Assuming I can explain it properly)
Anyone could evade on the chain of Sinestro's effect and then he would recover at the start of the recovery phase. That would be cool, but the only Characters that I know of that cannot be stunned by Sinestro's effect... and there are a few... (My fravorite card and why it's my Avatar)
Mr. Mxyzptlk, Fifth Dimension Imp (absolutely amazing in a Revenge Squad build) and
Solomon Grundy, Buried on Sunday (If you have no cards in your deck),
Child of Valaria... Superman, Bulletproof... If you have the Initiative; The Sentry, Forgotten Hero... that's all I can think of, I'm sure there are a few more.. but other than that, Sinestro is a mean bugger, and that's why I would just "Sniper Shot" him... lol

Also, Characters with the Physical trait and if you have Mob Mentality in your resource row.
I asked this before but wanted to make sure since this seems to be a little different. If I play No Match For Darkseid and the attackers can't be stunned would they stun on the resolution of NMFD if I chose to stun Darkseid.

Nope. Attackers who can't be stunned, can't be stunned by ANYTHING while they have the Attacker characteristic. So NMFD, Insignificant Threat, Pyrogen, Kiman, etc. all can't hurt unstunnable attackers.
Hey Spud, I keep reading that debate you and Hero had about the ruling and I still dont get it. Im not disagreeing with Hero but can anyone explain that in Sesame Street talk so I can explain it to my buddies? They all think Im full of it and I just cant seem to explain it properly. Sorry for the inconvenience in advance.
Man I wish I had my old computer for this one, I had this really nice explanation saved somewhere cause this question came up ALOT back "in the day".
when a character becomes stunned due to ATK/DEF compairson during an attack it happens during the attack conclusion, where no player has priority to put effects on the chain. So Sinestro's effect is sitting and waiting untill the next time that his controlling player can put his effect on the chain, which is after the attack is over and all characters have lost thier Attacker or Defender characteristics, which means that any protection offered by effect that have a duration of "while attacking" or "this attack" have expired, and similarly Mob Mentalities protective abilities kick in (X-Physical + Bamf! is silly, not good, but silly).
I hope that helps. If not, I can try and do better.
Thats good bud, thanks! Im calling a few buddies now and Im just going to read what you wrote and see if they can understand that without the bombardment of questions afterwards. Thanks again!
Btw, I love the "Needs more Cowbell" skit!!!
