It wont be difficult to accomplish as long as you stick to 2 main Legends. If you spread it around to thin these types of decks end up having trouble for lack of consistency. Playing 4 Concussive was one of the best things you could of done.
I agree with Dave that STTG and Messiah Complex were not great choices for your build. I don't really know about Heroes of two Worlds though, specially if you are running Government Sponsored and Mobilize. One would have to test it extensively to see if it's actually worth it.
I don't run Omni in my build but thats because not many of my friends play PA. Like I said in my article you have to do certain adjustments to my build depending on your meta.
Hummm.. 1 drop Mystique does make Heroes of Two Worlds better.
I actually use Fury of the Amazons in my deck, if you lack Fury of the Amazons another option would be Grudge Match. Also you can use it on any character you control unlike Fury.
I use Forge in my build also, he is simply amazing if he can stick around long enough.
Well, playing mental Vs. here... Heroes costs 4, which means I whiff on 3 without something like Mobilize. If I cut Cap and the SHIELD and put in Forge or Beast, that brings my X-Factor count up to 17 and should allow for Government Sponsored. Doing this should leave room for Cracking the Case, which would probably help to survive the early game. Please correct me if I'm wrong, or if this isn't worth it... I know I'm giving up curve stuff to beat Exiles, but that seems like a pretty good battle in Modern these days.
To truly beat or even stand a chance vs Exiles, you do need Mobilize and have to be willing to underdrop on 2 (IE: Get calliban at all costs); anything less doesn't work for you. Also, if Exiles is your only concern, Rictor is the preferred "other" 2-drop, generally speaking... I just don't think it's ever a good idea to give up the entire rest of the format to beat 1 deck, especially when that deck still "god draws" to wins. My Cyclops legend deck succeeds as well as you can want to, and even it gets locked out 1 in 3 games by Over-burn (or it doesn't draw enough optic blasts to lock a decent portion of the board, or it fails to Caliban turn 3).
Also, this deck does fail the "can they just not drop anything till turn 6" test. Some amount of pressure goes a long way... if they can "wait Calliban out" they almost always have the long game.
It's an uphill battle, and I figured you were building towards this to try to succeed where Cyclops Legend failed (IE: Beating ANYTHING else, or having an outside chance vs curve); that would certainly be a good thing. In as much as the MA tourney may have a decent number of Exiles, I doubt it'll be more than 30% of the field (mostly because it's hard to get together).
As it stands I just think you have a less consistant version of the Cyclops legend; the alternative legend support makes you splash other teams and doesn't really give you much gain.

Exiles definitely isn't my only concern... maybe I've just got it on the brain. I'd certainly love to build something that beats Exiles, say, 66% of the time and can stand up to other curve decks. It's just a matter of finding the right legend to work in concert with Cyclops, I think, preferably one at 3 and 6. Legends like Aquaman, Batman and Doom seem too redundant/overly controlly. In fact, I was debating making Red Skull the primary 3-drop, and changing the 7-drop to James Proudstar. And maybe I'm wrong, but Dirty Tricks seems like something to take out for the curve v. curve match-up.
I'm going to go back to the drawing board a bit while I figure out the right choice, but please keep helping... it helps. :)
Okay, so I've done a bit of goldfishing on a revised version, and am not that happy with the consistency, but happy with the results. With the right combination of plot twists, an underdrop on 4 or 5 doesn't seem to be disasterous. I'm updating the decklist above.
BTW, great call on Fury of the Amazons... I think it's the right choice.
And also, Dave, great call on the team-up... it isn't really worth it, and I'd rather pack a few PA's instead of Cracking the Case to save myself the room.
1980 I'm sure I was somewhere else, I never met the woman in question, and I'm 110% sure that filth is not mine.
No I will not go on Maury.
Its all a lie I tell you.
Why have you forsaken me?!
Ahem.
So yes, so far, the deck plays like a subpar Cyclops legend deck. I'm not seeing much of the point in mixing in other legends instead of just running X-Men/X-Factor... anyone have any better ideas for legends to mix in?
