i love the purifiers!!! but for the love of god, i can't seem to make them competitive... sgh.

As far as team-ups are concerned, I am leaning towards Shield, Nick Fury, Sentinel O*N*E*, the carrier, you're under arrest, can't get any better than that.

To be honest in any BYOTT I will have only two choices:

Teen Titans/Avengers

or

SHIELD/Purifiers

Shield and Purifiers without having to worry about team-up? Bring it on!

current x-men storylines in the comics make me dislike and loathe the purifiers, so i will always pass them up whenever i see them in a draft.

the current storyline actually makes them better than their cards. I love them!!

Try this for Purifiers.
Purifier x14, Matthew Risman x4, William Stryker X4, Jamie Madrox (2-drop) x 6, Mystique (Short Leash) x 4, Nimrod x4, Bastion x 4, Sentinel Squad O*N*E* x4, Magneto (Master of Magnetism) x2, Government Sponsored x 3, Invasion Plans x 4, Alias Investigations x3 and Birthing Chamber x3

Shift Bastion or Nimrod on Turn One add shift counters on later turns if your hand is full of Purifiers.
Play William on 2
Play Mystique on 3
Nimrod on 4
and Bastion on 5
Play a Purifier and Sentinel Squad on 6
Magneto on 7

Both Jamie and Mystique or fodder for Government Sponsored. Jamie also fills the discard army for Bastion.
the deck draws and recurs quite well. Use Investigations to rally for characters only and William for Invasion plans. Simple and easy.

On a random note, I have built a mock deck [I am short about 10 purifiers] with some crazy tricks and on-turn KO. It's fun, its still in motion. I'll post my build up on my blog later on today!!! [Shameless Plug...but so what!!!!!!!]

The Purifiers, Army are super rare. Hard to get any at all.
