Mind Control doesn't grant a CLOSE or RANGED ACTION it grants a CLOSE or RANGED attack that's the point we're trying to get across.
There's no such thing as a RANGED or CLOSE attack. RANGED and CLOSE are game terms that specifically refer to actions. If you want people to understand a point you're trying to make, it helps to actually use proper terminology and communicate clearly.
Is the action a CLOSE action? Yes.
Can a character use BCF during a CLOSE action? Yes.
That's it. If it wasn't Wizkid's intent, then they should have written it more clearly. This how most rulings work. They wrote it a certain way, we abuse it. Otherwise, common sense would destroy most current rulings.

Yes, we know that but Mind Control doesn't grant a CLOSE ACTION it only grants a CLOSE or RANGE

Just to review:
CLOSE = CLOSE action
and
RANGE = RANGE action
These are the same thing in Heroclix terms. Also, the issue is not that the MD'd character is using a CLOSE, the issue is that if the attack performed MC as a CLOSE, then that CLOSE is still resolving, therefore the MC'd character's attack is technically 'during a CLOSE', as the power is looking for. What's even more fun, but hasn't been brought up yet is if that MC'd character made a range attack during this resolving CLOSE!
Most characters can't use B/F/C with Mind Control.
Some characters have special powers that allow them to use BFC with close attacks.
But unless stated otherwise a character can't use BFC with a close attack, and MC grants only a close attack.
You seem to be missing a digit in the dial link. Were you perhaps refering to Penance?

Sure, it's semantics, but using proper terminology is not hair splitting. CLOSE refers to a close action, not a close attack, so mixing up the two is a breeding ground for confusion.

See this is why I said "Attack" so people would know I wasn't referring to a CLOSE ACTION
Thanks. I look forward to the “No”. At least this way, WizKids are aware of the flawed language.
I am again blown away by your interrogation of the rules. There is nothing flawed technically, as far as I can tell, in your interruption of the verbiage of the rules in question. I think this is a case where the meaning is clear and only becomes ambiguous through close analysis of the text.
And this is how we get loop-holes. WK would do well to answer this just to close the hole.
