Haven’t seen the series but got a book detailing all the characters but I also have dvds of earlier seasons. Should start watching.
There are a handful of not-so-great story arcs, but the good ones definitely outweigh the bad.
I was so excited when it Was initially announced because at the time, it seemed like the only continuation of Star Wars that we would get for quite some time. Oh, how things changed
What I'm particularly curious about is if the chancellor is actually a player in the game. That would add another wrinkle to the "kidnapping."
I feel like this is common knowledge at this point, but just on the off-chance someone is playing that is just getting into Star Wars now, I'll spoiler this anyway:
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Given that the chancellor during the Clone Wars was Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious, there is a very high probability that if he is in the game, he is NOT town friendly.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's actually mafia-aligned, but can't openly communicate with them unless he gets "kidnapped" first.
Interesting theory.
I was wondering that myself, why would we want to rescue the Sith Lord? But I'm town and a Clone, so my character's loyalty would be to the Chancellor/Palpatine. I don't know if the show encompasses the time frame when the Republic becomes the Empire or not.

Following on from this theory, maybe the Chancellor gets kidnapped if the mafia targets that player for a kill.

Well, there is a penalty in the rules if we don't rescue the chancellor, so there is that.
I was just musing at what else might or might not also happen behind the scenes if the chancellor is a player.
