wait, so have we seen the sculpt yet? The page is password protected and WK seems to have done a better job of hiding their content than usual when looking through the devtools
"I remember you said to me once, you said... 'if death ever comes your way and won't let you pass... make sure you scream right back in his face"
Yeah the fact that we got the Interset versus Intraset article with Sunspot for an hour or two before it went down behind a password protection screen makes me wonder if we'll actually get that other article The Return of the Team-Up.
It seems to have been published last Friday the 16th and is similarly just hidden behind a password protection field. My thought before this afternoon was that it had been written and put up but was planned to be revealed today (they seem to like to reveal those Design Insight articles on Wednesdays) but when the other article went up and came down it makes me wonder if both were mistakenly published.
Well, at least we got confirmation of Sunspot and a look at his dial!
I think this was the basis for his sculpt. Its the same pose anyway. For those of you who didn't get a chance to see it - take away the energy krackle and black out the x-symbol and that's essentially the sculpt.
He does have defined lines for a colorless suit and boots so those who want to paint him would have an easy time doing so.

After Wizkids recent article detailing their upcoming Sculpt Enhancements debuting in this set I expect/demand energy krackles...!!!!
First off, thank you for making a new thread just for this preview! Already the discussion seems more lively and focused!
I've never followed Sunspot at all. Like, I don't recall even reading him incidentally! So all I'll say about it is that I like how he blends the lesser-used AIM keyword into the extremely flexible Avengers keyword- I already use Avengers as a sneaky way to make teams.

Ugh, the Avengers keyword may as well be the mutants keyword from years ago. Its just as damn common if not moreso, considering everyone and their mom gets the keyword nowadays, not to mention like more than half the roster of Avengers are or were considered villains at some point.
Avengers is the generic "Named" keyword IMO.
At this point named themes and generics themes (considering the push from the Spidey Chases now) should get the same benefits like back in the day. Oh wait, it doesnt count unless you have a particular chase though, then its ok to break this "rule" for TTPB. Whatever Wizkids, so over it. Guess its not too powerful as long as you create the figures that provide the very imbalance you claimed you were trying to stop. As long as it sells product to hell with the integrity of the game.
Theme is theme now. Put 20 monsters, robots, soldiers, warriors, celebrities, rulers, scientists, police, martial artists, pirates or figs with armor on your team, you still get 5. Since there is a 5 prob max, WHO CARES?????

Saturn, have you not read Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers run? I highly recommend it. Bobby never really stuck out to me before, but between Hickman and Al Ewing's New Avengers i really developed a foundness for the character.
As for the dial, I like what they tried to do with the team up, but I don't think they pulled it off thematically. When Bobby bought AIM, most the top brass (named characters) didn't come with him, they were mostly trying to steal the company back from him, and MODOK was on a separate Avengers team. Those who came to work with the Avengers were mainly the faceless Bee Keepers (generics). The Team Up cards prohibition of characters sharing a name and therefor generics should have tipped them off that they either shouldn't go this way or provide a special get around the restirctions for this one card.
I also don't feel the dial itself represents AIM era Bobby very well. Does this look like a man who outplayed both the Maker and two Scientists Supreme?
For a New Mutants and a Glass Cannon Roberto, he's fine.
Am I going to play him all the time because he's the only Bobby with Avengers? Yes, yes I am.

I have not. I am an X-Men fan primarily, and keep my comics budget pretty small; at any given moment, I'm reading 2 X-books, Runaways, Ms. Marvel, and maybe an event series (seldom the main events, but Hickman's events have always nabbed my attention). The Avengers don't jump out at me, as a general rule; I keep up with the news from those books, but generally only read them when I find them at the library. I did pick up Hickman's New Avengers (I dig the Illuminati concept), but didn't read Avengers proper.

We'll, if you ever get a chance, I can't recommend Hickman's whole Marvel work enough. It's all connected and its all awesome. For comics on a budget there's no better deal than Marvel Unlimited. Had to make the switch when I went back for my masters and I have loved it
