WizKids does always say supplies will be limited on convention figs.
How many people who wanted the Ant-Man / Yellowjacket Con LE's weren't able to get them?
How about Atom / Plasticman?
And now Silver Surfer / Invisible Woman?
Compare that to the amount of people who weren't able to get Galactus - that's why there was a debacle.
There is "limited" and there is "LIMITED". If we all knew Galactus was "LIMITED" ie more limited than any other limited edition figure made - the overall sentiment would have been different.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

A special - WWLA attendees hot-line? A coupon to get in line first? I really don't know what moe they can do. They can't go back and fix the mistakes - only learn from them.
I was at WWLA. I wanted Galactus - and didn't get one. Bummed? Sure.
But I'm also going to the San Diego Comic-Con to give it another whack.
If I don't get one there, oh well...
At least they admit they messed up and hopefully they will actually implement changes to make sure these types of things don't happen again.
They could fix this one: rainchecks. I realize this isn't a cut and dry issue, since it would require the manpower and infrastructure to process and ship a lot of products, but a lot of us went out of our way to get said products after we were led to believe that we had a reasonable chance of doing so, so it seems like the best way to rectify the situation.
The sticky thing about incompetance, though, is that sometimes it knows no boundaries. I don't know how much confidence I have in their ability to fix it when they sincerely thought a couple hundred units was going to be enough to satiate an estimated crowd of 10,000 people following three months of publicity.
Captain America: C'mere, let me get a closer look at that big gash on your cheek.
Bruce Banner: But I haven't got a gash on my cheek.

Quite a few are bloody whiners, but quite a few of us have also tried to be very reasonable about this.

WHATEVER! It was an example. Ok, so at the very first game con this year that has 3 million people show up, and they only send 100,000.....on second thought, I'm not even going to freakin' waste any more time on that.
So when are you selling off your collection ontapmedia? Or are you one who's just going to keep on complaining and threatening to leave instead of jumping out of the game finally?
First of all Frontman, your comment is flawed. Similar things have happened, the big deal here is the rude attitude and the unfair belief there would be a shot of obtaining Galactus without bleeding on yourself. There wasn't.
I guess since I'm not out of anything (didn't go to LA, although I almost did) I accept the apology.
This just sucks that it will make my getting one in San Diego impossible. However I have a certain allocation of funds set aside for E-bay if I can't get one at a con. I fully expect it to lower down to a price I'm willing to pay.
However if someone wants to give me A Galactus and the two LE's for 130 right now... you know how to contact me
Logically I don't expect anyone to nibble on the above offer while mark-up is 250% on Ebay but you never know.
10-2-08 I just put a bunch of stuff on eBay including a numbered Super Skrull Illuminati and a CoG Galactus. Check it out.
I know this has probabaly already been revealed elsewhere but ... eh, I'm just too lazy to go search for it. How much were they charging for a Galactus and what were the spending requirements for IG and Surfer?
This post tells me what again? They admit they were unprepared and that there were problems at the convention. I think it would be insulting to our intelligence if they admitted otherwise. What I was hoping for was a truthful count of the number of Galacti at WWLA and the number of Galacti they are planning to bring at future conventions. If I had those facts it would really help me determine if I am going to make the attempt to get Galactus again. I have heard numbers ranging from 50 - 300 were sold at WWLA. If they increase that number, but only by ten or twenty, then I will know not to waste my time. If they say they will triple the number then maybe I may think about it. I do not think my request is unreasonable.
Hey look, my Silver Surfer starts out with the same damage potential as the CM Elektra! Do Wizkids even read comics?
The one thing that hasn't been addressed is why Drop Ships were so plentiful last year (at WWE, they didn't sell out until VERY late in the day) and Galactus was not. If you walked into the door at 12:00 on Friday, you got a drop ship. Would it not be reasonable to believe that Galactus would be at least as popular, if not more-so, than the drop ship?
It makes the average clix player feel like a second class citizen.
I'll give you credit where credit is due. You're disappointed, you offered a suggestion for a fix, and even state that the infrastructure for the fix might not be reasonable to fix the problem. At least you're thinking. A good number of folks who have complained, for two full years mind you, about WK's biz practices without pulling the trigger and getting out when they claim "that's it, I'm done," are STILL complaining, wanting the whole ball of wax for free, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, oh yeah, I ain't buying your product, you jerks, etc.
So, the long and the short of it is, I can see your aggravation. My point is that many want unreasonable fixes and make unreasonable demands. Case in point, when something is labelled "limited" not every person who plays the game should have one. It no longer is "limited."
