"There is movement near the front of the building, " Peter thinks, "We cannot allow a second attack like Green Goblin's. Perhaps if I look around the corner in human form I will be less noticed."
He is cautious. He knows his allies are depending on them. He does not intend to let them down.
"Vulture's not as stupid as he looks," the Ultrahumanite admitted. "Avalanche, I think I want you down there with them for now." His mental powers sent the mutant down to ground level next to his allies.
"Samurai, you too," he began to gesture again, but the Silver Samurai held up his hand.
"Wait. I can do this by my own power."
"Fine. Do so. I shall follow once I check my enhancer."
The Samurai twisted a ring on his finger and disappeared from the roof, reappearing a second later near Avalanche.
"Vulture's is parading around out there at the edge of the building, Batman," Iron Man tells him, "I figure if we take him down it'll be a lot harder for the others to make it up top here. Then we can pick them off one at a time. What do you think?"
"I think we should ruffle some feathers, Iron Man," he replies.
However Iron Man going in flight loses the element of surprise so that when he attacks Vulture, he easily evades it.
"Next time, you bald bird," Tony Stark thinks to himself.
Minor point: Colossus can't pick up the HO yet. He doesn't take the push damage, and therfore, get his Super Strength until after his move is completed. Of course, no reason he can't pick it up first thing on his next action.
Vulture will Charge! Taxiing Killer Croc. Vulture to F3. Croc in E4. Vuture will then attack Batman. AV8 against DV14. Needs a 6. Gets a 7 and Batman takes 2 more clicks.
Avalanche free moves to N5.
Ultrahumanite pushes to leap/climb to N4. He takes a click and outwits Batman's Outwit.
Silver Samurai pushes. Phases to E5. He takes a click.
"Oh ho!" Vulture said, "Mr. High-And-Mighty Avenger tries to attack me, will he? Bah. Just for that, I'll bring some pain his way." He grabs Croc and swoops up toward the roof. At the last minute, he seems to think better of his chances of actually doing any damage to Iron Man and changes course, flying straight into the Batman instead. Croc lands none too gracefully on the roof next to them.
Avalanche backpedaled to get a better shot at his opponents. He couldn't see a thing from the shelter of the building, and what he couldn't see, he couldn't hit.
The Ultrahumanite, meanwhile climbed apelike down the side of the building until he was about 15 feet from the ground. Then, with a mighty leap, he covered the distance separating him from Avalanche.
"I think it's going well, don't you?" he asked proudly.
"Yeah, boss," Avalanche agreed. "Looks like we really got 'em on the ropes now!"
Silver Samurai disappeared again, and reappeared up on the roof next to Croc.
"I cannot let you glean all the honor from this battle."
"Yeah," Croc said, "whatever. I just want to taste blood on my claws."
"Savage." Samurai said, disparagingly.
Batman was weak. Surrounded. Sometimes that's when he's his most dangerous.
He attacks Vulture with surprise speed, knocking the bird-man off balance. He finishes the attack on the ground bird with his fists. It is all the Vulture can do to escape before being totally defeated.
Okay, let's hope this works. Ultrahumanite will Outwit Iron Man's Invulnerability.
Killer Croc attacks Iron Man with BCF. AV9 on DV16. He needs a 7. Arrgh, attack roll is a 6.
Well, since I shouold try to take advantage of the Outwitted Invulnerability, I'll push Avalanche to attack Iron Man. AV8 on 16. I need an 8. I get a 4. Avalanche takes a click.
"Croc," the Ultrahumanite shouted, "forget Batman for a moment and attack Iron Man!"
He and Avalanche both tried to hit the armored Avenger, but the computers in his suit allowed him enough of a reaction time to get out of the way.
Batman will again attack Vulture. Needs 5, gets 7. Vulture is down.
Colossus will charge to C6 and throw ho at Samurai. DEO will perplex his attack to 9. Throws object. Needs 6, rolls 4. (Not sure if this move was correct..let me know. If not I'll let it go anyway and sacrifice the ho. Can't think of why but it does feel wrong somehow).
Iron Man will attack Killer Croc. Needs 7, rolls 4. Geez what sucky rolls.
C6@ (1) Colossus
F5@ Iron Man
F4 @(5) Batman
A8 (2) Deo Agent
While the villains were having bad luck ther heroes fared little better. Batman took out Vulture with a calculated graze of the temple via his bat-a-rang, neither Iron Man nor Colossus were able to hurt their targets in the least.
At least we both had turns of bad rolls. That's fair.
As for the Colossus move, two things: Throwing the object is a ranged attack, and since he's Charging, he can only finish the action with a close combat attack. The other thing is, he can only move half his total before making the attack, and I don't see how he can get to C6 in only 4 squares, considering he has to run up the stairs. I've always played that you have to go up the stairs from the bottom (i.e. move to E9, then up to B9 and then on to the roof at A8 or A9 from there) but now that I look, I don't see that specifically spelled out in either the rules or the FAQs.
I'd say Colossus can take his move to C6, but must wait to do anything from there. You can keep the object if you want.
Another thing, at 5 clicks of damage, Batman no longer has Willpower, so he should take a click of push damage from that second action in a row.
Once again, Ultrahumanite Outwits Iron Man's Invulnerability.
I'll have Silver Samurai attack Iron Man. AV9 on DV16. He needs a 7. Hits with a 9. BCF roll is a 3. 3 clicks to Iron Man. Glad I Outwitted the Invulnerability first, or that would have been hardly worth it.
Green Goblin KO
Ultrahumanite Q7 (1 click)
Vulture KO
Avalanche N5 (1 click)
Killer Croc E4
Silver Samurai @ E5 (1 click)
