Probably half a dozen of my guys coming including me. The only prize I'm likely to win is fellowship though.

Aw man! Why couldn't the nationals be held in Melbourne! Sydney is SOooo far away. I am seriously considering flying up to Sydney for the weekend now!

Anyone know of some cheap accomodation for a weekend in Sydney?

Aargh! Australia's first Galactus and it's in another State.

Is the 14th a public holiday? Oh yeah, it's Queen's Birthday right?

Man I am so tempted to fly up. If I did I would be VERY keen to win the Galactus though. I don't normally resort to cheese. Darn those ethics!

Gamescape: Will the tournaments be held during the day or at night time? If it's during the day that will seriously improve my chances of coming.

SAT- DC Clix 9:30am till 10:00pm
SUN- Marvel Clix 9:30am till 10:00pm
MON- Indy Clix 9:30am till 7:00pm

Of course that is assuming one makes it into the finals. Otherwise it will only be until 5:00 on Sat & Sun and 4:00 on Monday.

Thanks to WizKids and Croftminster (Australian Distributor of WizKids Products), we now have -

ONE GALACTUS FOR EACH OF THE THREE NATIONALS

That's right - A Galactus for DC, a Galactus for Marvel and a Galactus for Indy!

And the hotel the rest of the Clix players are staying at is only $100 a night for a one-bedroom apartment, about 10 minutes walk from Centrepoint.

Hey WakandaMan, hope you can come up and play with us. Is going to be alot of fun and there is now three Galactus's up for grabs, who whould have thought.
A group of us will be staying at the Parkridge Apartments, you can go to www.hotel-apartments.com.au for details. Its about $100 a night for a 1 bedroom apartment.
The Travelodge Martin Place is also really close and you can get twin share rooms there for $159 a night or $130 if you go to wotif.com.au.
If you can afford it, the Swissotel Sydney on Market Street is right across the road from the venue and is a reeeaaallly nice hotel but it will put you back over $400 at normal rates or around $200 if you book on a last minute site like wotif.

Thanks for the price info guys. Is that rate a special for conference goers? I checked out the website and theapest looks like $140. Can more than one person stay in a single bedroom room? Hmmm....


I do need to come up to Sydney sometime soon as I have tickets to the Lion King that need to be used, so if I can work that into the weekend I am definitely in. If not, I'll think about it.

I'm judging a tournament tonight, so I'll talk to the rest of the Ballarat players then and see if any of them are interested in coming as well.

I've already put together an awesome Indy team. I assume US Exclusive figs are fine to use? Making a great Marvel and DC team is proving far more challenging....

It would be great is you could make it, its always good to meet some more clix players.

Also, if you come up and see the Lion King while you are here, we are in negatiations with Jay Laga'aia who plays Mufasa (and was Captain Typho in Star wars ep. II & III, and in Xena etc), to attend Gamescape to sign autographs and such. You could get him to sign your program or something perhaps?

Anyway - the one bedroom apartment for $100 was a group booking thing but if you stay for three nights or more they should give you a discounted rate, your best option is to ring them on 02 9361 8600.
The one bedroom has a double bed and a sofa bed, so it'll sleep four if you want to make it very cosy

As for the Indy, yes, the American stuff is fine to use.

I missed the boat on cheap airfaires, so I won't be coming to the Nationals.

Hopefully Croftminster and Wizkids will make their way to my side of the country (Perth) so that Galactus can have a taste of the west.
