Well, maybe the attendance upgrade should be limited to 1 or 2 figures per game, with the rule that you can't give any 1 figure an attendance upgrade twice in a row.

I also like the idea of resetting all stats to 0 if using an attendance upgrade. After all, it's basically free. You should have to give to get. It allows hard to upgrade figures to be at veteran level by game 3, and then the figures who will rack up stats regardless aren't given needless freebies.

But if the stats reset to 0, how are we to earn feats?

And every other game? Some people have 4 versions to upgrade to....how are we supposed to do that in every other game?

I prefer the whole upgrade via attendance every game. This is a single season - lets have fun!

I agree, we should have fun, but to me, fun is not playing against figures with 5 or 6 feats stacked on them at the end of the season.

We could compromise, and not let figures with Special Powers or Traits have Feats.

EDIT: Or if a figure uses an attendance upgrade in a game, stats for that game don't count for their season totals? IDK.

We're just picking themes right now and that's it. We draft the TEN characters later.

Looking at all of the the teams that people want and what is available, I wanted to avoid teams where there would be a lot of contention for figures from what has already been declared, at least I think I have done so.

The two I looked at very carefully were:
Morrison's JLA
The Sinister 12, of which 11 have been made,
Teen Titans - either the Wolfman/Perez or the Johns era
Johns era JSA - the team I cut my teeth on when starting out with Heroclix.

I have had poor luck with the JSA as of late, and I'm not sure why. After losing all but 1 game with them in the HCFL, I don't think I could face playing them again sadly. Poor Power girl goes back in the box again, unplayed and unloved.

The Sinister 12 is really fun looking, but in the end I feel it would tread on too many toes, with Thunderbolts, Dark Avengers and others being taken up in it.

JLA poses serious problems. I already stole the Legion and Superman in the FLE. I couldn't bear doing that again to someone. So I'm steering clear of them.

The team I kept coming back to and looking at was the Teen Titans. I just loved that comic so much when I was a kid, and then in the last decade the Teen Titans revival is what got me back into comics in a serious way.

I haven't played them much at all since before we entered the special power era. With Donna in classic costume, Nightwing having an update, and of course all of the introductory rookies from Crisis, they seem very hard to pass up. With a new Gar Logan on the horizon, it is additionally hard to give up this chance.

And so, I declare that I will draft: The New Teen Titans (Wolfman/Perez era)

Hmm, I don't think anyone's talked about the Teen Titans. But with some attendance upgrades, they can definitely be fun.

Considering I'm -really- wanting the Golden Age JSA - want, but don't plan to get based on my roll results - that's fine with me.

Actually, with the Attendance rules and such you should have a -really- fun team in that. (And stop feeling like you stole the LSH - I tease about it but there's no grudge there.)

I had the Teen Titans in the last theme league, and at the time was really looking forward to upgrading them as many of them start a little rough *cough* *Starfire* *cough*.

Though I actually went with the "Titans" era in the late 90's where they were all going with their more adult nicknames.

But Teen Titans should be super cool!

Alright, with the first official selection, we are off and running! While TAK has said he wanted Silver Age JLA, we should probably wait to see if he makes that official!

Also, I encourage everyone to post the figures that are theme for their teams when they post their theme. That in no way guarantees any figures, but it at least shows what you are wanting, so people can plan accordingly. Potentially if there are only a few crossovers we might be able to just bypass a draft all together and just settle those few disputes privately via PM or with a 3rd party rolloff.

I am really struggling to love a theme. Mandarin's Minions cracks me up but if Kontrol is looking at Immortus then we are both looking at Swordsman.

I may just stick with Masters of Evil. Would I need to stick with a specific version?
