That's too bad. The premise was sound, I guess. Still didn't make me even slightly interested in picking it up, but I never would have guessed that it would be worse than Secret Invasion.
Secret Invasion at least added elements that could be expanded upon, Norman taking out the Skrull Queen and rising to power being the biggest example. This? There's just...nothing. Well, aside from another couple of months of 7 HEROES getting magic Asgardian weapons.

Just read Fear Itself #7 and am very much regretting seeing it through to the end. Easily the worst "event" book I've ever read, hands down. Just...no point whatsoever.
I don't want any spoilers, but did they show everybody fighting the Nazi Mechs in Washington again?...Because that's all you ever saw in any of the books and any of the crossovers. Every issue showed a different camera angle of the same invasion and nothing ever happened. You might have 2-3 characters running off and doing something interesting here and there, but overall it was always the same shot of the nazi mechs.

There's nothing really to spoil. Seriously.

I can't explain it, but Jonna has the best luck of her life against me with dice. It happens again and again.
I have witnesses to the madness. The Friday night when Rob, Jonna and I went to Haven's venue I played against Jonna and she rolled 9 straight Super Senses roles against me, including the first 8 being all 6's. To make matters worse, she was switching dice (not always the same one being rolled from her pair) and even rolled one of mine and got a 6.
To make this worse, my dice typically roll poorly against her, but not to the degree that hers roll well.
We have gotten to the point that when we are facing each other it becomes funny to see how it will play out.
This is very true. Some say I am a witch. Haven can attest to this as well.

This is starting to sound like a "I had to play against Jonna" support group.

This following a game where Starro Mind Controlled a team into walking into the open air on the Avengers roof map over and over and over. Woooo balance.
I almost beat Starro by playing characters like Ultimate Namor, U Abbey Chase, Abe Sapien, King Shark, V Diablo (I think) and other aquatic movers with Submerged on the Hellboy map. The guy playing Starro was also playing with 3 Blackhawks. He kept teliing me that Starro ignores stealth and I had to keep reminding him that Submerged is not stealth. He was shaking like a leaf by the end of the game. I had Starro down to his last 3 clicks after taking out the Blackhawks, but I lost. For me it was a moral victory because this particular player was a good player and I managed to keep him flustered for an entire game

Reason: left something out
One of my co-workers seems to have been moving things around this building completely at random, possibly in an attempt to sabotage me. Just got a call on my lunch break about an order that has apparently vanished consisting of way too much stuff to misplace. What is going on here?!
Maybe it's a... g-g-g-ghost! It is Hallow'en month, after all.

I read the Secret Avengers portions. I'm glad that that was all I really needed to understand the story and that I didn't miss anything.
I REALLY enjoyed the Valkyrie issue though. Her origin story and how it played into the modern combat situation was very well done.
Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my venue owner. He's quite upset with NECA right now. He's been in the business for 20 years and so he probably has a decent sense of how things work. Currently, he's sitting on way too much Superman that he can't move while selling bricks at $100. He's upset with NECA for, in his words, creating an artificial shortage after DC 75th and GSX. Then NECA made retailers order CA and SM early. Obviously retailers were going to up their orders because DC75th and GSX sold out. Well, the whole "sell out" was a farce and now retailers are sitting on extra product.
Now I think he's got nobody to blame but himself for ordering too much product, but I also think NECA did create a little bit of a false sense of demand. I also think the secondary market is over saturated, thus figures aren't worth anything. You use to pull a Chase and get excited because even if you didn't want it, it would be worth something. Now we get Chases like Rojhaz that go for about as much as a good SR. I know going forward I'm not going to buy as much because I know the secondary market will be extremely buyer-friendly.
Going back to my venue owner, he feels that he's been burned by NECA. So with Hulk and future sets, he's going to take all the pre-orders from the regulars, then order an additional 10% on top of that. He won't risk getting stuck with a pile of product ever again. What I'd like to know is if other venues are having the same problem of "too much product." Does this mean that distributors will be sitting on Hulk and Galactic Guardians because retailers were lead to believe in a false sense of demand thus cutting back future orders? My venue owner said he's seen this happen many times with different companies, and every time it kills the game eventually. I know people like to poke fun at people complaining on here with the whole "this will kill heroclix" thing, but is there any legitimacy to this, this time around?
Do any ogres have experience with dying their hair? I've been meaning to dye my hair for a couple of years now, but I never get around to figuring out what to do. Any frame of reference for how much maintenance is involved?

Maintenance? Not much. Maybe pick up color-safe shampoo/conditioner. As far as the actual dying goes, just follow the instructions on the package and be sure to cover the area you're working in to minimize stains. DAMN hard to get black dye stains out of a bathroom sink!

My grandma, aunt, and sister were beauticians. What exactly do you want to know?

Sounds reasonable. My hair is starting to get unmanageable, so I need a trim soon anyway. I'll ask my barber what's what when I do that.
