Yep, feels good to get the verification and vindication in multiple ways about the pre-DCnU stuff.
Anda Staphanie Brown Batgirl!?!? I didn't have much hope in DC doing anything cool like clixing figures they have retro'd out of existence. Thanks wizkids and DC
This... so much this.
I just found this thread and read the opening post where "Batgirl" was confirmed and immediately thought - wouldn't it be nice if it were Stephanie. But I knew it was going to be another Barbara, so I didn't let my hopes get up.
Then I looked at the slideshow images... so many beautiful pieces that I was looking forward to. And then there she was... Stephanie Brown as Batgirl!!
Wizkids, you have renewed my faith that you are looking out for the FANS of the comic books, past and present, and not just blindly following along with the current trend. Bravo and THANK YOU!

This is how rumors work around here. Characters fans want don't show up? It's DC being all grabby and restricting what WK can do. Characters fans want do show up? WK gets the credit. No amount of cool, not-currently-active characters showing up will ever defuse the "DC restricts WK's decisions" rumors, because there will always, always, always be more characters that people want but haven't gotten, that they can accuse big, bad DC of blocking.
I'm not calling you out specifically for anything Daedalus, it just irks me that people keep spreading the "DC restricts figures" rumor without a shred of support.

Okay, carry on with the thread.
While I'm certain DC is involved in approving which figures are allowed to be made, ultimately it's Wizkids that starts the process for a majority of these figures. I'm willing to bet (though it's possible I'm wrong) that DC didn't approach Wizkids and say, "Hey you guys should make a Stephanie Brown as Batgirl figure." Especially given the fact that they've thrown the character to the curb in their books and erased a majority of her history. (They won't even acknowledge she was Robin anymore.)
On the other hand, it seems far more likely that Wizkids decided that making Steph-Bats would be cool and included her on a list of figures sent to a DC rep, who then ultimately gave the approval. So in that sense, yes I feel WK deserves the credit for these fan favorite figures being made.
Edit: It seems though your objection lies within blaming DC for figures NOT being made. In this I would understand your irritation, but personally I haven't blamed them for anything of the sort (and haven't really seen it happen, but I don't read many threads). I definitely haven't heard anything about DC refusing a character to be made.
Actually there is support to this...at least from the old WK regime....
Seth aka Prophus lead designer for awhile tried to get Killer Moth in set after set.....and was repeatedly denied (I think he also tried to get Paul Kirk Manhunter in as well)

Wow, I didn't realize Seth had tried to get Killer Moth clixed! If this is true I have even more respect for Seth, and feel really badly for the former owner of Big Monkey Comics in DC, and clix enthusiast Scipio Garling! He LOVES certian old-school Bat-villains and was always hoping for Killer Moth! Oh well. For fun you can check his comics blog "Absorbascon." A really great place to have a laugh and learn some things comics (or even Clix) related! Here's a link - http://absorbascon.blogspot.com/
Regarding all the goodness revealed - sign me up! There's a lot of stuff, but we can pick and choose, or just go for it all! I haven't seen anything leaked here (with a clix dial) that I'm not interested in! Good stuff!

And yet in the time that HeroClix has been around, Killer Moth has been in three tv series and three videogames. Clearly, DC isn't stomping its foot down on a no-Killer-Moth policy. Why is HeroClix different? I just can't help think there's something else going on here.
Was there any info on the Star Trek: Away Team figures set?
That and the Captain America FF are the only two for-purchase HeroClix products that we got no information on at the show. And Iron Maiden, now that I think about it.

He was also released as an action figure in the Mattel DC Classics line 4 years ago, as part of wave 6.

I dont know I just know Seth let this out after the company went under and he was not worried about pissing off Dc. I just know everytime he brought up KM (and PK) he was shot down....So Not a Killer Moth is banned but still a very controlling hand that limited who they can do....Wheres as with Marvel he never claimed to have those restrictions
