Seeing the numbers for Batman Lil Gotham, I can't help but wonder what the numbers of the initial digital release are and how they relate to the printed release.
September's Villains month, with a significant portion of their current output not even getting an issue that month, certainly has the potential to be a bookend for a number of series. I think the October solicitations are going to be pretty interesting.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

I believe there are only 31 of the original 52 left, but I'd like to know exactly how many series they've cancelled total across old and new books lol. At least 21...
More, I think it's like 28 or 29.
I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM, IM3, WK11-16, FI, WX, T:DW, CA:WS, IIM, DoFP, DP, GotG, AoUM, AoU, AVAS NFAoS, CACW, UXM, SFoes, DXF, GotG2, ADW, WI, MT T:RM, AI SW:B, EX, ABPI and X:DPAS sets.
Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release "IC" Wolverine.
So how much longer before they re-boot this entire catastrophe? Then we can all pretend none of it ever happened!
Actually that's what I HAVE been doing!

Reboot it to exactly the way it was before the New 52? Never, most likely. They might try something a little different but if you are in a purely nostalgic mood...welp.
Well, if Reverse Flash is coming back.. I'm hoping he says something to the Flash about what he did... Maybe we'll get another huge event going that more of the characters will be conscious of the change. (I'm still waiting for the Spectre and Dr. Fate to actually weigh in...)

There's an anomaly discovered in the latest New Guardians where they talk about a universe previous to the current one. It's the only reference I've seen like that since the Legion mentioned Flashpoint in #1. But then you have some people hoping (though probably reaching) the "Lights Out" event at the end of the year in the GLC books could be a reference to the end of the DCnU.
In any case, they're launching some high profile Superman books this summer. I would think they'll give those a year, and if they do moderately well, there's no reason to look to another reboot or a reach back to previous continuity. They're not going to toss the DCnU just because they can't sell Dial H or The Legion.

I wasn't alive at the time, but were people this resistant during Crisis on Infinite Earths? Or was it just that resistance was less noticed before the Internet?

Nope, they were/I was nowhere near as resistant at the time. Huge cosmic crossovers were new-ish and not done to death as they have been the last 20 years. The characters themselves didn't have nearly the total reboot as we're seeing now. I missed the Earth 2 uniqueness and the deletion of the Golden Age trinity bugged people, but overall it was accepted.
I'll argue it was unnecessary to simplify the multiple earths idea, since they've used variations of the theme ever since, but c'est la DC.
