Remember when I said that buying a Brainiac from you would guarantee that I'd win one for $.20 from ChiRocker's auction? Well, that didn't happen. Instead, I got a half-dozen packs of DC10 from my sister for my birthday. Guess what was in the first one I opened?

Oh, and yesterday, I was the one with the submerged comic collection. We ended up with about 4-5 inches of water throughout the basement, and some longboxes got soaked. I lost part of my complete run of Sandman and Living Dead (Ultimates 3, issue 1 is still in mint condition, though, so I can only assume that floodwaters have crap taste in comics). I am happy to say that the one book that I cared about - my copy of Thor #362 autographed by Walt Simonson - came through clean and dry. So, all told, probably lost a few hundred bucks in books, which isn't really all that bad.

And to balance the day out, the last of those 6 DC10 boosters I opened was a chase Supes, and I spent the rest of my day (having spent the morning and afternoon mopping and bleach-wiping) hanging out with Alison Krauss and Kris Kristofferson.

And I suppose that now you are going out to hunt down vampires.

so Boston update. you will prob hear on the news they caught suspect two - i stopped into Dunkins after my game tonite and dropping off the K's. (that's my new name for them, btw) ran into a cop - at dunkins, who would thought? :P anyways the cop said they really wanted to shoot him but he's going be booked and questioned, he said they arrested two other guys in Kenmore square with bombs, and that this IS part of a chesan (however you spell that) cell. so Boston crew, stay on your toes, it's not over yet. scary, maybe we should all move to Oklahoma

It bothers me that the cop had no problem telling you they wanted to shoot the suspect. Is this guy guilty? Almost surely, but jeez, that's what the Law side of Law & Order is for.

Gotta be honest here. I think our justice system is flawed when it comes to sentencing. If it's a slam dunk trial for something this heinous, it should be the death sentence with no chance of appeal. Stop making me pay tax money for some scumbag to have AC and cable and 3 square for the rest of his worthless life.

Process is part of the reason that I am anti-death penalty. There are so many appeals that it becomes ridiculously expensive, and takes at least 20 years. I'd rather do life in prison.

Seriously though, I agree, innocent until proven guilty man. We can't let our justice system become a mockery no matter how ridiculously guilty this guy seems. I'm more upset that this cop gave a random stranger information about an ongoing investigation than that he "wanted to shoot the guy," heck 50% of America probably wants to shoot that guy. You can't condemn people for having thoughts though...

I have no idea how they're gonna find a jury that is unbiased...
