Ok, so this raises a question. Out of his three poists, Velius used one of them to cast a vote on Space Jawa. Then he went off the grid at 21:22 Realms Time and hasn't been back. While this could very well be an innocent move, it sets my scum-dar a-tingling.
Now if Velius does not come back on and gets lynched.... just hope that we're doing the right thing because:
1) We don't have any better candidates at this point
2) We can't let the day go to waste and even a voting pattern can provide info later on
Those are my thoughts on the matter for the time being.

I know one thing there have been times in Mafia where i have missed entire day phases before because of real life. Now I don't know if Velius has been on since this day opened or not but I know personally I like the benefit of the doubt and if it gets to the zero hour then Id never hold it against anyone for lynching me if I missed.
Kind of why I dislike voting trains on Velius, at this point he should have claimed, but he's also an easy target for the Mafia pressure train.

Velius is always quiet. While I'm normally ok with votes on inactive players, Velius is always targeted with that as a reason. One can say he should talk more as a result, but one can also say that it should be accepted that he's a routinely quiet member regardless of his affiliation.
I don't think I can vote for him here. It sucks to waste a day, but it also sucks to lynch somebody who's likely town.

I still don't like his claim. He may very well have been ballsy enough to admit to a kill, especially if the mafia has some kind of power that would misdirect those who target him or if he had a town cloak. He did give enough information though, so I'll back off for now.
Also, I'm around to join in a lynch on Velius, but I do have at least some reservations about lynching someone Day 2 purely for inactivity. I guess I'll decide a little closer to the end of the phase.
Darq, if possible, could we get a more narrow window for when the Day phase ends?
I'm not saying he should skate, he should be lynched, just for the refusal to claim, especially while he's applying pressure to someone else (Especially on a strange target for pressure at that).
There is a little more substance to this than the usual random low poster pressure, but that on it's own isn't indicative of scum in my eyes.
Ahem. For now I'm going to Remove Vote as I think SJ is hiding in plain sight, as it were, but while I think Velius is a pretty quiet target, I want to hold off before throwing down on him.

I don't think we speak the same language. How does he "refuse" to claim when he is not around to respond?
Yeah Fred as it was pointed out by someone earlier since he laid down his vote on Space Jawa he has not been on Realms. Now could this mean he is scum sure but Im certainly not rushing a lynch when he still has time to respond.
Also as pointed out he is a quiet player most of the time. However I will still throw my vote on if it gets too close to the deadline and he hasn't responded.

That's fine, but there's a reasonable assumption that if you aren't going to be around that you let others know within thread. Especially when you're actively pressuring someone earlier in the phase.
If I'm laying a vote on a guy and know I'm not going to make to the end of the phase, I'd better be damn sure I'm coming back to remove it in case it gets out of hand, or that there's no chance of him being lynched.
This refusal to claim or unable to answer the bell crap is semantics. If you're playing the pressure game, you better expect to be a participant in it. To me it's the same thing if you don't let everyone know what your schedule is beforehand.
To me the inability to answer the bell is as good as a refusal to claim (in this scenario)*
If you're not going to be active in the phase there's enough other people to throw down a vote for pressure. DON'T PRESSURE VOTE IF YOU AREN'T ABLE TO CHECK BACK IN BEFORE THE END OF THE PHASE

This sounds counterproductive to me. You should never be afraid to vote. The votes are what keeps the dayphases running. If players are afraid to vote, dayphases will stall out.
Thanks for helping me make my mind up though. I cannot in good conscience lynch Velius today. He deserves a chance to defend himself, and if necessary I can wait until tomorrow for that defense. This train has been most informative even without a dead body at the end of it.
