I'm pretty sure all of that stuff was in the original draft for the Hobbit. Tolkien's editor probably made him trim it down and cut it out of the final draft.

Okay, I must admit, I found this entertaining.

I like Tolkien's work way more than your average nerd, but this is a critique with which I cannot argue.

I think they do a great job of sticking to the story, being in character, and modernizing the story.

I was teaching Kindergarten and she was across the hall teaching Tods.

She's actually a little over ten years younger than me. The she yells at me because the age difference bugs me, but she has a brother almost exactly my age so it doesn't bug her.
