So much stuff is getting RFG'd these days that it's only a matter of time until UDE releases a card that interacts with the RFG pile. Errataing stuff to remove it from the game would either A) fix the problem only temporarily or B) restrict what UDE can do with the RFG pile.

Yeah, but that would defeat the whole point of "RFG". When something's RFG'd, it's meant to STAY RFG'd, that's why it's called REMOVED FROM THE GAME. The exceptions are stuff like Parademon where there's no zone you can really put him in, so they just put him in RFG. If they start doing stuff with RFG, that'll screw up stuff like Parademon.
nah, I don't see UDE doing something with RFG stuff. It just gets too complicated what with the already RFG effects out there....
on a side note, they could just limit Frankie to be recruited once per turn kinda' thing. like this:
"When Frankie Raye, Optomistic Youth comes into play, characters with the same name and version cannot be put into play by effects you control this turn"
it's a little choppy, I know, but the basic idea is that Frankie can only come into play once each turn on your side of the field, regardlss of effects that put her onto play. the "effects you control" clause is used as opposed to "recruit" is used to prevent future cards similar to Dr. Light.

I assure that there will eventually be a card that interacts with the RFG pile. Maybe not along the lines of The Wish cards in Magic, but something close to DD Capsule in YGO or DD Warrior, even.
What's the difference between that and "Can only be used once per turn" or "This ability only triggers once per turn"?
It's more than just that.
While technically, limiting Frankie to being only 'playable/recruitable' once per turn is like the Dr. Light errata of explicitly restricting an activated ability to once per turn [which most activate abilities are IMPLICITLY]. For the most part, a character is 'implicitly' only going to be recruited once per turn.
However, the problem is that the errata that would be necessary to make it so you can only recruit/put into play one Frankie Raye per turn, or use her effect only once per turn would be so obtuse and wordy that, honestly, it's much too much work just to avoid banning it.
Also, most people won't play 1 copy of Frankie, so multiple copies could be good, especially on a free character. If we were talking about a 4 or 5-drop, I'd agree that that eratta would solve the problem, but Frankie's pretty much a 0-drop, so it's entirely likely for her to be played multiple times per turn.
Also, "play this ability once per turn" is usually used on payment powers, while "this ability triggers only once per turn" is usually used on triggered powers. That's the difference. However, each instance of a card has its own instance of the ability, so putting a "this triggers only once per turn" on Frankie doesn't do anything.
what i find interesting is that Scott Gatea (sp?) mentioned that da Hump would make an announcement on metagame regarding the ban list. yet no announcement has happened. the suspense is killing us! well, at least me.
softly though, so not all bad.
seriously, doesn't that make you think frankie is getting the axe fo' sho?

Dude, Scott made that announcement on Friday. Let the UDE folks have a weekend off, alright? I really don't expect an announcement from Humphries until tuesday or wednesday.
you mean the employees who so kindly give us the hobby product we love should have time off? absurd! whips must be cracked! backs must be lashed! obviously not. just eager to know. dude.
