It says MODERN Spider-Friends because the thread was started during the first Marvel Modern Age. However, instead of starting a new thread when that age ended, the Spider-Friends regulars just continued the Spider-Friends discussion here. So this isn't really a modern age discussion, but a Spider-Friends discussion...
And most people in this thread are trying to break mono SF, hence the absence of team-up strategies. However, teamed-up SF has been the topic of discussion more than once, and from what I remember the best team ups for SF have been:
bagman sucks. Here's why:
He relies on getting stunned.
His effect is stall, but you still burn for (at least) 4.
His effect WONT ALWAYS GO OFF.
His effect does practically nothing on initiative.
I only play him in mtu draft where I already have either Aunt May or a spider-man stamped effect or if I'm lacking in 4-drops.
On init Bagman wins games you shouldnt win. Stun your opponents board and then swing Bagman into your opponents largest drop for the exhaust. Or atleast that is how it worked for me at the Sneak...maybe he is garbage.

Heralds of Galactus
I also like the Spider-Friends X-Men Team up, I havent tried it out since the new cards came out but my old deck abused Longshot +Aunt May +Cardiac +Xaviers School and others.
and then swing Bagman into your opponents largest drop for the exhaust.
Mattie can work the same way, but at the cost of only 3 endurance...
I guess the only time Bagman works differently is if your opponent has something that works against targetting effects. For the most part, I think Sensational and Parasitic are better.
I can only afford to run one build, which is best? Spider-Friends Evasion or Spider-Clones?

Doesn't Daredevil do the same thing for 2 Atk? Bagman is ok. He's imo, the non-rare option over Sensational. And Sensational is better barring an untargettable 3 drop. If you want redundancy to ensure that you get either you can run both, or you can run Parasitic for an on-again off again useful ability and concealed-optional goodness.
The thing is, Bagman CAN BE very good, like when used with Darkhawk as Goop said. But, it is VERY situational. I really like him, but I ultimately decided that you don't need him if you run 4x Sensational.
Think about it: what is the goal of the mono-SF deck? Get to turn 6 for Daredevil. Turn 4, you can attack and stun/disable all or most of your opponents field with Sensational & Mattie. Turn 5 is the turning point. If you can survive an assault on turn 5, most likely you will win. That's why Tiger/Deathlok is so awesome. Combined with subbing in 2 or 3 Sensationals (which is really easy if you run Aunt May) and Gift Wrapped, your opponent will have very little to attack you with on turn 5.
The point? Bagman won't do anything for you if you are exhausting everyone but the opponent's 5-drop. Like I said, he can be good, but he's not necessary in my deck.
Side note: I still HATE Kree with a vengeance. I have decided that the only way to beat them is to include some more aggro options in the build: No Mans, Flying Kick, a couple copies of Spider-Hulk, whatever it takes to stun at least some of their guys and whittle down their field.
sensationals good but i don't think he's all that good. I like bagman more because he can garentee an exhaust on any character, where sensational can only hit 3 drops. I play both in my spider clone deck, bagman for initiative and sensational for off initiative.
It's a pretty strong deck, particulary the addition of Uni-Power for flight/range and hidden hate. I've never even really considered using that card. It's too bad there aren't too many SF charaters with flight. However I'm not sold into using Against All Odds since I think it's better to prevent attacks in the first place with Blade and Parasitic Host, but I might be spouting nonsense.
I'm running Golden, and originally i was using Black Cat that mad Plot twist cost 2 mor and running Bad Press but i took them out and now i don't have any two drops.
