None of the oranges said what you claim they did. Three out of four have said definitively and unequivocally that it works. Period. (The fourth has yet to comment.)
The fact that they have also said that it might change at some undetermined future point in time has no bearing on the current ruling. It might change. It might not. The Oranges (and the community) have been aware of this for some time. Two players guides have come and gone with no resolution on this matter. This doesn't mean that the next one won't have something in it about this, just that in the event that it doesn't, we have a correct ruling.
With all due respect, you are the one adding to a confusing situation, not I.
EDIT: I just re-read what I wrote. I acknowledged that it could be changed at a later date. What more do you want? Everything I said was not only correct, I proffered the information you seem to think required.
You just don't quit do you well maybe this will help. This is Harpua yesterday:
"The current clarification is unknown as we have not received a final answer. You can read this as "Ask your judge."
The way I would rule it at my venue (if I noticed or if it was asked) is that you could not do it. Other deputies have different opinions."
I didn't join in on you before because I've seen you get unecessary on people before but really dude it's enough already.
Harpua isn't the only one to acknowledge this either contrary to what you said in your reply to jtallday
I'm not sure what thread you're reading, but that has to do with purple ray / darkseid and double power actions, and this is the one about mind controlling to become a pilot. There is ambiguity in how the rules could be interpreted, here there is none.
Hah! It's so brokenz!! It takes not one, not two, but three misplays to work! That's the definition of "broken."
That's what you got out of that? Interesting.
The_Atom points out that I goofed up the points. We could just as easily play a cheaper vehicle with double-time or something? The principle is still the same.
Normalview points out first turn immunity. Absolutely true - but not entirely forgotten. I commented on characters attacking in my part 2 of round 1, which requires powers to do. Adding in the outwit was, admittedly, an errant after-thought. My mistake -- but a mistake that is not required for the thing to work.
Necrodog thoughtfully looks to the principle of what I was trying to get across and simply points out that killing the con artist would drop the tie option. That could happen, too -- but again, the con artist isn't a requirement for the concept to work so if we feel it's unsafe, we could swap her out for something or someone else.
In addition, Necrodog points out the problem with facing a true tent pole. I've seen people play for the coin flip. Heck, I've had people I've been playing try for it. It's silly (imho) to play for a tie instead of a win but it happens.
So, there was 1 actual mistake that could quickly be rectified by shuffling some points. Heck, if we weren't concerned with a 2-turn end (which was the specific question asked), we could use the invisible jet, running around with Karma (11 attack mind controller) for a total of 146 points, plus fluff, or any other combinations that achieve the same thing. Maybe the purple ray could even be slid in there somehow, with tandem vehicles or something.
Again, the post was about the principle that with minimal effort, you could remove tanks from the board and, without killing them, just end the game quickly. Thanks Necrodog and Normalview for realizing the point and responding constructively. I figured I'd make mistakes. A string of 4 hour a night sleep breaks, with work in between, can really take a toll.

Respectfully, the thread you have linked deals with Purple Ray Rejuvenation and DPA's. It has nothing to do with Mind Control and Pilots.
However, there are several posts within this thread concerning Mind Control and Pilots and, as Rorschach points out, they are in agreement that

Although I suppose they could have been lost in the 8-9 pages of debate and off-topic discussion about Virginians.
Short version--Yes, you can Mind Control someone into piloting a vehicle. It's also in the "is this supposed to work this way?" list for the designers.
So, with all due respect, your bashing him incorrectly. He's pointing these things out, again, because people are still somehow missing that, for the moment, the Mind Control trick works. In the future, it might not, but, for the moment, that is the ruling.

Wow, I can't believe I did that. Thank you.
True there may be less ambiguity but since the mechanic in that thread is less broken than the one in this thread, i would assert that my main point stands which is that one should not lead others to believe that we have a sound ruling when it is just waiting to be changed even if it is currently ruled to be "ok"

Have a great day!
Thank you for pointing this out out to me and I have since been made aware of my mistake but as I explained, my main point is still the same
snip...It is resolved. There's no question remaining about how it works...now.
How it may work in a couple months has absolutely no beating on how it works now.
And what the hell are all of you talking about? Teal is on the drop down box...I can find it and I'm freaking color blind!
if the bolded is what you call "acknowledged" than i must restate that it seems unclear.
a player not familiar with this situation should not be expected to read your post (any part) and know that while this totally works for the time being, it shouldn't be gotten attached to and they should check back for an updated ruling because it is likely to be changed before too long.
i just went thru all the remotely blue colors in my tray and none of them were teal. maybe yours is just better but it is not in my and many others trays so color blind or not we will just have to type it in.

But... but...
That's how *all* Heroclix rules are.
Flyers can carry flyers, sure... until Indyclix said no.
You can take non-free actions after being carred... until Indyclix said no.
You can use Enhancement with Energy Explosion... until one set of rules (Indyclix?) said you couldn't... but then a later set of rules said that you could!... but then another even later set of rules said you couldn't!
Big Figure's "This Place is Gonna Explode" ability works when a friendly bystander is KO-ed on your turn... except that it doesn't anymore.
Geo-Force's big rock hand can't come back once it has been destroyed... except it can now.
A character hit by Geo-Force's big rock hand can never get free from it if Geo-Force calls the hand back... except that's not true anymore.
The point is... Heroclix rules are written in sand. Expecting them to stay the same from day to day is madness. All you can hope for is to know what today's version of the Heroclix rules are. Everything may be different tomorrow, but play for today.
Remember: flying characters can always go into soaring mode but it costs them one point of their movement!

They don't have to know what it will be until it is actually changed because until then it doesn't matter. Besides that, many people have said throughout the thread that it could soon be changed. Expecting every single post to acknowledge this or to be able to be able to jump into a thread on a single post and still understand what is going on is unreasonable.

qft! this might be the most relevant post in the whole dang thing for me. i have been looking at this "the wrong way".
i have been trying to find sense and order in a place that doesn't work that way, and for this i have been mistaken.
if i have seemed edgy to anyone i apologize.
i think i try too hard to find order here because everything else is out of order but this world is based on fantasy so it seems to me that we should be able to "work out the kinks" since anything can be explained away with a magic wand or boy or girl.
i think jonid and rorshack agreed on it early and i must have been one of those guys they were talking about, again, sorry.
I didn't join in on you before because I've seen you get unecessary on people before but really dude it's enough already.

I need to stop? I didn't realize I'd even started...
I made a reasonable statement and stated it reasonably. I'm not entirely sure how anything I said/did or how I said/did it is wrong.

Report away. I don't see anything posted by me that in anyway violates a forum rule, and I'd welcome a mod to tell me otherwise.
And for the record, I am often wrong, and when I am I almost always admit it. It just so happens that in this case, I'm not wrong. That happens sometimes too.
EDIT: I'm also generally pretty self-deprecating in the rules forum. On occasions where I say something correct and it's confirmed, it's typically followed by a "Wow, I was actually right?! " post. And a post where I'm corrected on a ruling will typically acknowledge that in the same manner...

I apologize. I though the teal was enough to indicate that my post was not to be taken seriously.

Teal is in my tray, fifth column from the left and two down from the top. Hope this helps.
Somebody reading my post would have an exact idea of the current situation: It IS legal. It will POSSIBLY not always be so. Again, what more should I have said? I covered the ruling, which is correct, and binding. I covered the potential for change, which is not binding.

You got most of the big ones, but don't forget Magog, Ziran, Nightwing/Gandalf/Noh-Varr... Rules change. It doesn't invalidate what was. It doesn't mean that a hint that a rule will be changed in an undetermined manner changes how something works now.

True. And yet, even acknowledging that it will change is somehow wrong, since I'm focusing on the now instead of the then...

It's in mine too, thanks for pointing out where it was. I must have missed it this whole time, because the little square doesn't quite look non-orange enough to me.

As I said, always glad to help. The color blindness kept me from initially seeing it, but the brute force method is effective, even if inelegant.
