This Nighthawk is another of those figures like Starman who is far better than he should be. For Kyle, like with Jack, that suits me fine.

Both look on as Storm and Deathlok attempt an assault on Mr. Miracle. To no effect at all. Nighthawk merely hobbles forward trying to stay in the battle.

"I'd say we've seen better days," Beast notes.

Um, I KOd Storm two turns ago. Didn't notice you still had her in your recap last turn, since you didn't do anything with her.

I totally missed Storm being koed.

My final replacement is Phoenix. Dark Phoenix really. She'll hss to R18 attacking Despero. Needs 5, rolls 7. 5 to him. She ends in N15.

You flat out told me that Phoenix was going to be your endgame piece. I'm a little surprised you're playing her at the full 300 points though. Obviously all the other economizing was to make room for her.

Now you're on your last piece, time to broach the topic, do you want to do a part 2 to this one, with the 80's, 90's and today? (I sound like a radio station ad.) We were going to see how this went and decide whether we enjoyed it enough. I certainly did, but no pressure.

Let's try to do something with that pesky Nighthawk.

Despero will give it a shot, AV8 on DV16. Gets 6.

Dawnstar HSS to Q17 on him, AV10 on DV16. Gets 8. He PCs that to another 8. He finally fails his SS rolls with a 1. He's out, but totally agree with your assessment of the figure. Excellent piece, but probably over the top for Nighthawk. Dawnstar ends where she started.

Okay, so a couple shots I have at Phoenix now. With Nighthawk gone, Darkseid has LOF now.

Shade first Perplexes her DV to 17, then using his SP will make Despero's stats all -1 until my next turn, and gets to use Perplex a second time, will make her DV16.

Now Darkseid on Dark Phoenix - Digression: This is reminding me of the X-Men/Teen Titans crossover comic where they had to join forces against Darkseid who resurrected Dark Phoenix as his ally. One of my favorite comics ever - Anyway, AV10 on DV16 +1. Rolls 12. Oooh. Her SS roll is 5, but lucky for me she succeeds only on a 6. That's - yikes - 6 Penetrating to her.

John's going to use his RCE on her - his LOF passes through the opening in the wall and he ignores characters and hindering. I'll use it for a +2 attack, AV10 +2 on DV17. Gets 4. Even that didn't help. Still, Darkseid's hit certainly served to make her much more manageable.
