The fact still stands that he could phrase it differently, GreatDragon.
I take an instant dislike to people who go about calling others 'n00bs' and an even greater dislike to those who start hating on the Structures/reprints because 'all the n00bs have common versions of my shineys'. Boo-fricking-hoo.
The way he describes it, he's basically looking for someone to hand him a ready-built deck so he can go back to bashing all the 'n00bs', in which case I suggest CCC: ready-made, easy-built, guaranteed success.
Still, I'll apologize for my rudeness. And I suppose I might as well do something useful here...
*Ahem*
The Dragon's Roar Structure Deck is weak. Period. It has one Red-Eyes, one Chick, a bunch of utterly out-of-place Armed Dragons, a pathetic Element Dragon, and the Traps were probably chosen by a mentally handicapped child. The only good things about it are the Luster Dragons and the Spells.
In short, the Dragon's Roar Structure Deck can't compete with real decks without a serious make-over, so if you're losing to it then whoever you're losing to obviously isn't a beginner. Or your deck sucks severly.
Countering it is a matter of simple steps:
Step 1: It's a beatdown deck, so take away its ability to beatdown
Gravekeeper's Servant
Group: Spell Card
Type: Spell
Icon:Continuous
Unless your opponent sends 1 card from the top of his/her Deck to the Graveyard, he/she cannot declare an attack.
Vengeful Bog Spirit
Group: Spell Card
Type: Spell
Icon:Continuous
All monsters on the field cannot attack in the same turn that they are summoned (includes Flip Summon and Special Summon).
Step 2: Its best monsters pretty much rely on being Special Summoned, so:
Royal Oppression
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Icon:Continuous
Pay 800 Life Points to negate a Special Summon of a monster and the effect of a card that Special Summons a monster and destroy it. Both you and your opponent can use this effect as long as this card remains face-up on the field.
Step 3: The Spells appear in multiples
Spell Vanishing
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Icon:Counter
Discard 2 cards from your hand to negate the activation of a Spell Card and destroy it. Also, check your opponent's hand and Deck and if you find any Spell Cards of the same name as the destroyed Spell Card, send all of them to the Graveyard.
Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Icon:Counter
Discard 1 Spell Card from your hand to negate the activation and the effect of a Spell Card and destroy it. Your opponent cannot activate a Spell Card of the same name (including the Spell Card that is destroyed by this card's effect) during the rest of this duel.
Step 4: Always remember: There Is No Spoon.
Step 5: Just throw down a 2000+ attacker and keep attacking. Chances are they wont be able to stop you.
n00bs is just a term i use when i'm annoyed - i'm sure i was one at one point. and i don't want a ready built perfect dragon deck - just help using the newer cards. sorry if that came across badly.
As someone who hasn't been playing Yugioh long and wanting to play a dragon deck, your article saved me much time from looking at the individual cards over the internet. The deck ideas are also giving me a good start on what I want my deck to do.
Read your articals Dragon-reborn, loved the one about metamorphosis although was a bit confused at one point :)
4.7/5 for both.
i recently got a CED (woot :D) i'll put it in but what would be the best way to use it properly anyone? can i just drag any cards out of my hand/deck and then mass-nuke my opponent or are there any specific cards that would do better being sent away (one of my friends has 'Trap of Board Eraser' - git :P)
Unfortunately, using him in Dragon decks can be difficult. There are exactly 4 good Light-Type Dragons, and two of those are Blue-Eyes and Paladin...
Mirage Dragon
Attrib: Light
Type: Dragon/Effect
Level:4
Atk: 1600
Def: 600
As long as this card remains face-up on your side of the field, you opponent cannot activate Trap Cards during the Battle Phase.
Kaiser Glider
Attrib: Light
Type: Dragon/Effect
Level:6
Atk: 2400
Def: 2200
This card is not destroyed as a result of battle when this card battles with a monster with the same ATK. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, return 1 monster on the field in its owner's hand.
(I'm not counting Element Dragon, because Element requires certain set-ups to work well, in this kind of deck it would probably end up as a 1500 ATK weakling)
Were I to use CED in a Red-Eyes deck, I'd probably drop the whole Darkness Dragon angle and just focus on Red-Eyes. My monster line-up would probably start something like this:
Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy Of The End
Red-Eyes B. Dragon
Red-Eyes B. Dragon
Thunder Dragon
Thunder Dragon
Thunder Dragon
Red-Eyes B. Chick
Red-Eyes B. Chick
Mirage Dragon
Mirage Dragon
Basically, I'd advise going for a Red-Eyes Morphosis angle, that way, you get cards in the grave fast at little or no card disadvantage.
Thunder Dragon is a must in this kind of deck - Deck thinning and free Chaos fodder? You gotta love it! Plus, it can be Metamorphed, too.
As far as combos for the Emperor go, only one that really springs to mind is Chaos Emperor Dragon + Interdimensional Matter Transporter. Nuke everything and still have a 3000 attacker on your side of the field. Ouch.
Oh, and you could always nuke 'em then peck 'em with Yata. Game hehe.
Hello master dragon reborn
GREAT thread I really enjoy this reading
One Question real quick ::: What do you think about United we stand for DRAGON combos
Hello master dragon reborn

One Question real quick ::: What do you think about United we stand for DRAGON combos
United We Stand is not to bad in any deck.
It could help bring up attack on Spear Dragon's doing more life point's to your opponent from the the monster you attacked being in defense.
It could help raise the attack. Seeing that you can summon a good amount of good dragon's that do nor aquire a tribute such as Luster Dragon's, Solar Flare dragon's, etc.
United We Stand is probably the best of equipted Spell cards.
I would try it I think it would work well with Spear Dragon's.
United We Stand is just very good card. It has no real 'hidden potential' in a Dragon deck or anything (if anything its real potential is in swarm decks), it's just an excellent equip card. Actually, it's probably one of the best equipment cards in the game.
Yugfreak has a fair point about Spear Dragon, using United will give him some DEF so he'll stick about longer, but starting from 0 means you're going to need at least 3 monsters out so he doesn't still get killed anyway.
To this extent you'll probably need at least 1 Scapegoat in your deck, in any case, running Scapegoat with UWS is always advisable.
Something to notice about the Hex.You can sacrifice any fusion material to bring out any fusion the hex can use.Imagine 3 months from now when Konami gets off their butts and release BEUD.Sacrifice Lord of D or BEWD with Light Hex and blast them with BEUD!
• To use the second effect of this monster, you must Tribute this monster plus the legal Fusion Material Monster (s) written on the Fusion Monster. For example, to Special Summon "St. Joan" you must Tribute "The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion" as well as either "The Forgiving Maiden" or "Marie the Fallen One".
If you wanted to Special Summon BEUD using The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion, you would still need at least 2 BEWDs. On the field. Nah, I'll pass thanx.
And why Lord Of D.?
The text of BEUD is:
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon + Blue-Eyes White Dragon + Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
So, for example, if i have the light - hex sealed fusion in my hand and lord of d on the field, i can summon the light HSF, and then tribute it along with LoD to get king dragun to the field? :D
The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion
Attrib: Light
Type: Rock/Effect
Level:3
Atk: 1000
Def: 1600
You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). Tribute Fusion-Material Monsters on the field, including this card, to Special Summon 1 LIGHT Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck.
Think of them as having two effects:
Effect 1: You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s).
Effect 2: Tribute Fusion-Material Monsters on the field, including this card, to Special Summon 1 LIGHT Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck.
The first effect allows you to use them like any other Fusion Substitutes in a Fusion Summon, for instance: I have The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion and The Forgiving Maiden in my hand. I draw Polymerization and can use it to Fuse the Hex-Sealed Fusion and The Forgiving Maiden for St. Joan.
The second effect is slightly more complicated. This effect allows you to use the Hex-Sealed Fusions like a 'replacement' for Polymerization. However, the Hex-Sealed Fusion you use only takes the place of 1 Fusion Material, so all others used must be the correct ones (this is a condition set by all Fusion Substitutes, otherwise you could just Fuse two Substitutes for any Fusion Monster).
In this instance, you must Tribute the right Hex-Sealed Fusion with all other Fusion Materials to Special Summon the Fusion Monster.
For instance:
The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion + The Forgiving Maiden OR Marie The Fallen One = St. Joan
The Earth - Hex-Sealed Fusion + Warrior Dai Grepher OR Spirit Ryu = Ryu Senshi
The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion + Lord Of D. OR Divine Dragon Ragnarok = King Dragun
Since the cards specifically say "Tribute", they must all be face-up on the Field to use this effect.
The Fusion Monster you summon MUST be the same Attribute as the Hex-Sealed Fusion used (so, you can't use The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion to summon King Dragun)
I hope that answers any questions ;)
Here are the official RONIN rulings:
The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion:
• When you use this monster's second effect, you also get its first effect. So this monster enables you to perform a Special Summon of a Fusion Monster without "Polymerization", etc., and also acts as a "substitute" for one of the Fusion Material Monsters.
• Using the second effect of this monster does not "properly" Fusion Summon the Fusion Monster. So it cannot be revived from the Graveyard, etc. If you use "Polymerization" then you can revive the Fusion Monster from the Graveyard, even if you used this monster as a "substitute" Fusion Material Monster.
• This monster's second effect cannot be used to Special Summon Fusion Monsters that can only be Summoned by Fusion Summon, such as "Dark Paladin".
