@White Knight: Nice to have you back, but how long until you return to your little birdy friends. :p
Here's a force for you. It's a mix of the old and the new (for you, anyway).
Felix Jarta
Long Tom
MHI AA Tank
Kite
TrackBike x3
Infiltrator Mk I x3
448 Total, Awe (the 2 point deficit is because you are good enough to have a handicap :)).
No Grot-Drop, but you get to run Felix around. The kite does the same as the CJF one, just don't ram with it (7 IT isn't as good for that). The MHI and the bikes protect the Tom, and the Infiltrators support Felix. One thing to keep in mind about the Tom is that it's arty minimum is only 12 as opposed to the PDS's 16, making it that much harder for your opponent to get underneath the range. Your kill zone is mid-field, with the Bikes coming up late game for some possible VC 3.

Not the best, but I think you'll like it.
Careful, I'll start regaining an ego... :p
Yeah, I DO like it - I'd almost be willing to give the Kite a shift and bring in a Grot, even if I was 4 points down...
Well, if you really wanted your Grot-drop, then ditch the _ranged_combat_ harassing vehicle (otherwise known as the Kite :)), exchange one of the Mk I's for a Sniper team and down-grade (seriously) one of the Bikes to a Purifier. You lose some options with the Purifier, but at least the formation still has a 10 move that will ignore hindering, and the Sniper in with the Mk I's give's you some interesting options.
Whoops, that wont work. I was using the total of your honorable opponent, not from this battle force. To get the extra point, then drop all the Bike's for GDSA. There, no more Purifier. :p
Grrr, the Long Tom is 74 point's, not 72! So in that case, down-grade the 2 Mk I's to Spec Forces (which is better than further down grading the GDSA). Ok, final (Grot-drop force):
Felix Jarta
Tom
MHI
Garrot
Sniper
Spec Forces x2
GDSA x3
450 Total, Awe.
Or, since I was off on the Tom's point cost, now the original army comes out to 450 even. Ha! (sorry, it is Friday, after all :))
Knight Juno One
3 x :^^: Sniper Team 22/66 points
:^^: Garrot Tranpsort VTOL 30 points
2 x :^^: Spider 106 points
:^^^: Long Tom Artillery 74 points
4 x :^: Grey Death Scout Armour 17/68 points
450 points
The Spiders can work under cover of Pog, while the GDSA provide a solid screen (with the aid of some serious blocking terrain, right MuppetWarrior?). The SniperDrop is a true nasty - capable of putting first dent in large heavies, while it can also clip the wings of any VTOLs hanging around.
Anything with a Spider I like, and anything with two Spiders I like even more. :) They'll perform well with all the blocking you're going to bring. You can play with all those AO angles you like to talk about (and keep those long ranged AP units from sniping on the Tom :)). Looks pretty good, although anything with hardened armor is going to be a real pain. But then, when aren't they?
@White Knight
Hoa Phiri
2 Sniper Teams
1 SFT
1 CE
3 Trackbikes
1 LT
The LT is well screened. The TB's cover the midfield and backup Hoa. Snipers deal with incoming infantry and VTOLs.
Just threw it out there and may actually try it out myself - if my venue with run a 450 :( Since it's the holiday season here and AoD is around the corner, the BM is thinking of a bunch of unrestricteds with varying point builds....blah...blah....blah....so I ramble...
Lei Kung Lance
Tolin
Catalinia
Vincent
Hoa
total points = 996 of :^^^: Goodness :devious:
Or
Huan-Ti Lance
Catalinia
Tolin
Czupek
Sandra
total points = 991
Right now I am leaning toward the regiment pure Lei Kung Lance. My only worry with that lance is if some ones fields a Jade Falcon Mech force things could get ugly fast if that happens. :nervous:

I almost hate to say this, Zim, since the last time I even touched on the subject I had MuppetWarrior wagging his finger critically at me for being a bad Sang-Wei, but I have to agree with your final assessment - unless I was having a REALLY bad day, I know most of CJF Stars I could field against this would probably take it to the cleaners - Keep in mind that Tolin works best when in heavy cover, so if you wanted to take that lance with the other two Shen Yi bruisers, I'd be clustering them around an H-building or two. The Falcons might well get first hit, but their effective MDFA range is, at max, 12 (10 speed, add base sizes), after which you have a class chance of crippling them in return. Be scared of the Shrikes, and don't let Jiyi Christu in his Gyrfalcon just sit there and take pot shots.
I'd be tempted to try this...
:^^^: Felix Jarta Ghost 182 points
:^^^: Catalina Trujilo Shen Yi 246 points
:^^^: Tolin Men Shen Yi 255 points
:^^: Clara "Blaze" Parks Tian-zong 291 points
974 points
You could upgrade Cat to Jacen Bell in his Yu Huang for a total of 999 points (although you'd lose Awe), or upgrade Tolin to Jung Chae in his Hellstar for 983 points (talk about resilient!!!!)
Felix is there to play the Falcons at their own game - the best Falcon mech usage comes from Wingman tactics - if someone attacks the primary mech, the wingman swoops in to dish some damage. Given that Felix could potentially cripple any mid range CJF mech in a single salvo, he is a sound investment.
"Blaze" is there to give you long-range armour denial and to also make sure that you aren't out stripped in the heat dept - her heat dial is great, and will keep you shooting for longer.
Just my thoughts, but I spend much of my time on the other side of that arguement, so I hope these are useful. ;)
Well after a rare Epiphany I had an hour ago I now have 2 more 1000 point armies to submit for you guys to weight in on. So with out further ado and straight from the Bar  here they are.
Cossack Lance
Clara Parks
Sandra Sung
Dani Liao-Centralia
:^^: Blade
:^^: Sun Cobra
1000 Points on the nose
I personally think this army covers a lot of bases for countering most armies sent against it.
Or
Mongol Lance
Clara Parks
Sandra Sung
Dimitri
:^^: PhoenixHawk
:^^: Wasp
1000 points
This one I think is a little more my speed since I feel this is more of a slugging match prize fight army type that I so enjoy using
@invader zim: I'd say go for Mongol Lance. Since this is an all mech fight, I don't think the Blade is going to do you much good in that (since it's main use in single target AnP). Dmitri should plow through things that get close to Clara or Sandra, and the P-Hawk is just too useful not to use.
Thanks WhiteKnight & MuppetWarrior It looks to me like Mongel Lance will get the green light for tomorrow. Well I will let you know how it goes tomorrow and may I add it is good to be back & playing Liao once again. CJF as it turns out is just not my cup of tea it seems. To much dancing not enough Kabooms for me
Good Hunting , Zim - although I'd argue that part of the fun in playing CJF is the sheer AMOUNT of Kabooms you can rely upon - either yours or theirs! Dancing on the razor's edge can be fun, but when you absolutely, positively have to wade in and dish more than you take, House Liao - accept no substitutes... ;)
