My deck isn't purely fiends, but I do use 2 Necrofears so it obviously has lots of them in it.

well, i've seen/built some archfiend decks with AWESOME flexibility to the side deck, on of my favorites was monster control. Using snatch steal, 3 falling downs, and two brain controls against beatdown decks it works wonders. abusing the everliving mother out of archfiend roars with a skull archfiend of ligtning in your graveyard works fairly well.

The recent darkworld set is pretty great too. when used with the correct balance of monsters and using a percentage sheet of course. Fiends should be feared and respected.

Most definitely. Interestingly enough, I have an Archfiend/Dark World hybrid that Gutterpuppy has helped me work on. I haven't had too much testing with it but it shows some definite promise!

Say, did you merge a Brain Jacker or Jowls of Dark Demise into that control aspect? That would be awesome. I love the jacker.

Brain Jacker and Jowls. Those might be 2 of my favorite cards. A deck built to allow those cards to shine can be really devastating. Steal your opponents monster, attack directly with Jowls and tribute it away. Good times, goood times...

That reminds me. I have to get back to my Theft deck. And my RFP deck. And my Gravekeeper/Fiend deck. Maybe should I take a sabbatical from work. Do any companies offer those anymore?

I used to always use Jowls of Dark Demise when Great Maju Garzett was running rampant.

They'd tribute a Goblin Attack Force for it or something and hit one of my other monsters.

Flip it on my turn, take it and hit them directly with it, then Ring of Destruction (sometimes with a Barrel Behind the Door added in) for a gg.

I'm SOOO wishing Ring wasn't banned. I FINALLY got one and then had it fit perfectly into my Giant Kozaky deck adn then it got banned. I was only able to use a nice swap/ring/barrell for 5K damage once. And then it dawned on me that I could to a Great Maju trib summon using GKZ and ring/barrell itt for 10K to my opponent! Alas I never had a chance to do that.

But no worries, Giant Kozaky is still running strong and fiendish! 8^D I'm surprised people aren't using Jowls in their Soul Control decks. I can see the immediate need for the tribute for Mobius, but I'd rather have a smidge more patience, Jowls their monster, attack direectly, and THEN tribute it for a Mobius, or even better, a Dark Ruler

Which also surprises me why the Dark Ruler isn't showing up in decks as an "anti-Control/Toolbox" let's face it, he negates all those searchers AND have a 50 ATK edge over Mobius, sending him to school. I think people are too daunted by the lack of Special Summoning from the graveyard.

With no backup dump and revive options, he's certainly tough to use for your casual duelist.

He's not THAT tough considering the amount of swarming you can do with fiends...

In order to play him in a way that he doesn't equal a 2 for 1 against you would be to ensure the opponent's m/t area is clear before you summon him. This, however, ensures nothing because if he hits a Spirit Reaper well... he is messed up.

Why does it seem that I keep being mean to the card that turned me into a fiend player? I mean I like him, but I don't know... maybe next format.

Dark Ruler made me a Dark Monarch, but I'm kinda happy he's not heavily run. All the extra surprise when he shows up and tears into your opponent. But yeah, removal and stall are tough on Ha Des.

At least he's not TOTALLY dead when he's sent to the Graveyard...same with Helpoemer (if effect isn't active) since you can still remove them for Necrofear and bring them back with Dimension Fusion/Return from the Different Dimension if you tech them in.

i've always liked great maju as tech in a soul control deck when playing against a beatdown type deck. they think you're on the ropes only to get beatdown by thier strongest monster's atk x2.

ahh, but that's what makes him the Dark Ruler afterall. If he was a cut and dry, easy to special summon type monster, he'd file in the ranks of Net deckers and not appreciated for his immense power. We all question the Dark Ruler at times, I know I have myself after falling to a BTH or Solemn Judgement, but maybe that's what makes us come back to him 8^D

Well, the SOI preview has come and gone and I know everybody (including myself) has been oogling over Raviel, but I was also intrigued to see another fiend in the mix:

ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000
This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "End of the World". By paying 2000 Life Points, destroy all cards on the field except this card.

Now this bad boy I think could have some nice playability. Once out, you can give yourself a potential free 24K shot by paying 2000 life points. A definitely game clincher if you have the life points available. You could always use some life boosting cards or chain an Emergency Provisions in to help offset the costs. What do you guys think?
