reminds me when my one cat was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, he started getting real bad and the medicine the vet prescribed wasn't doing anything. we had to board him for a vacation and he got worse. while on vacation we got a call that he got crazy better after they stopped with the medication. once we got home and got him my Mom decided the best course of action was to just feed him more to keep up with the weight he was losing from the overactive thyroid. the vet gave him two-weeks and he outlasted that prognosis by two and a half years. Still miss the fella.
Man, that is the kind of pet story I want to see. They have kinda sucked for us, so we are due for an "exceeds expectations" kind of story. Kind of like Vlad's dating record.
My cat story is basically my cat had a urinary tract infection and I felt like the vet was convinced it was because my cat had some kind of kidney damage. I was being pushed toward killing my cat but decided that I would deal with the guilt of keeping her alive for 12 hours to know for sure. And, boy, was I glad I insisted on waiting. Zero kidney damage. My cat is pretty healthy except for this. But because she's 15 he assumed the worst. Now, in retrospect, I could have bought an expensive and healthy exotic kitten for what I paid to the vet. But I couldn't replace Angel.

When decorating the office X-Mas tree, make sure you don't have nicer glass ornaments before you decide it would be funny to throw out the first X-Mas pitch. I thought it was plastic!
