Eventually they realized they didn't need two Supermen, and J'Onny went marching home and out of the mainstream DC universe for 15 years.
It's the whole "Alien beings" concept. They're alike in that. And there are other aliens living on the "New Earth". So, in that respect, MM and the other aliens are like Superman.

Don't forget, MM could only fly (originally) by blowing. Supes made Leaps to begin with.
What always got me was that they (the writers) never played up MM's non-supes like powers. That would've been the smart thing to do, but then, that was a different era. Kind of like how things were different in the golden age. Supes pushing people off roofs is a no-no these days, but back then, eh. No biggie..
Back then, they thought the smart thing to do was to make him more and more like their best-selling character. It never occurred to them that the fans didn't need two of the same character.

Ah, but the writers thought so. And thus began the separation of universes so there could be more then just one Superman flying about.
Well, prior to the Ah-nold films, Conan was best known, to the widest audience, by the Marvel comic books.
Really? Not the original pulps?
My Conan-fu may be weak in this instance. I acquiesce.
Keith Giffen and Tom & Mary Bierbaum were responsible for the "Five Years Later" era of the Legion of Superheroes continuity, but they also collaborated on a yellow-and-white garbed masked hero, whose mask was a complete head covering with two eyes and an enormous grin. Name him.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

Conan never had his own pulp magazine, only appeared sporadically in Weird Tales; and unlike other pulp creations like Tarzan and the Shadow, never appeared in a medium outside the pulps until Marvel Comics came along. He had his fans in the pulp era, to be sure, but Marvel brought him to the widest audience.

Then there was Tardow. A combination of Tarzan and the Shadow, with his own catch-phrase, "Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of chimpanzees? The Tardow knows."
As stated, my barbarianology is lacking. I guess I thought Conan had novels and collections of stories like Tarzan and the Shadow and John Carter of Mars from their pulp appearances. Thinking back, though, there's always been a Conan magazine or comic in my memory. I bow to your superior art.

When the Secret Society of Super-Villains was first formed, one of the villains chosen by Darkseid did not immediately join, but popped up later after Darkseid was out of the picture. Who was it?

--I liked the Gorilla Grodd pinata in Flash: Rebirth #1.
