This may be because I play the Puppet Master version of SF, but I've been having trouble getting May to die so I can Swamp her back to hand and search out another Spidey. Some games end on turn 8 or 9 without my opponent having attacked even once.
This may not be consistent enough for some, but I've been using 3 Mr. Sinister and 3 STTG with Slaughter Swamp and Soul world. Between that and the NBB/Mind Gem/ESU engine I hit him with good regularity. Six I go with Batman or Daredevil. Between Batman and Sinister, tons of decks get shut down. (I do use BPRD to protect him)
The only problem with turn 5 is against Wolvie. Doesn't matter if their 3 and 4 are exhausted if he can just ready his Wolvie multiple times. Hmmm. Nevermind. Guess that is what Parasitic Host is for eh?

the only problem i forsee with this is my character curve has dropped slightly. im sill thinking i should mabye drop 1 flying kick and 1 spider senses for against all odds and big leagues. and yeah, i need to find dcr myxy and mex torch.

If you want to drop anything, drop the Going my Ways, then the Poker Nights. They are easily the weakest cards in your deck right now. Myxy can wait until you get more Avalons or Swamps, or maybe Mobilize. Human Torch is OK, but hard to maximize in a mono-SF deck.

Off-initiative, you want to kep your opponent from decimating your board. This is usually done through a mix of exhaustion and defensive pumps (my clone deck drops the defense pumps altogether and relies solely on its quality exhaustion effects, but it can also be built the other way, using many defensive pumps and little to no exhaustion).
On-initiative, you want to make safe attacks down the curve. The goal is simply to reduce your opponent's attacking options by stunning his lower drops, as well as KOing some of them so that your exhaust effects will be better next turn.
If you survive to turn seven, Amazing Spiderman should simply win the game for you.
as one can see, i finally got 2 soul worlds, (i'll probably drop the second for swamp) and a 3rd esu. i have bought about three and a half boxes AND STILL NO *^%^*&%*& GIFT WRAPPEDS!!! that and im still stuck with only one sensational and two indebteds. i dropped the going my ways and for now i replaced them with 2x against all odds. however, i'm debating dropping those two and scarlet spider for a second copy of both mattie franklin<>spider-women and daredevil, plus a sixth 4-drop spidey. given how i see the end result pointlessness of bag-man, that leaves (untill i get 2nd sensational) with a spider-hulk (surprisingly tempting) or mav spidey (peter parker), which im not too sure on given the lack of substitution honestly, but his abilities are theoretically usefull for the defensive. oh, btw, still keeping an eye out for white tigers to replace deathloks (on a trial basis anyway). also...im debating switching cardiac with ricochets. just a thought, that and how well would a couple trial by jurys work?
with 4 6-drops, whats the best combanation of matties and devils? which spidey would be better, hulk or parker? is there a better 3-drop then cardiac? this is all i need to know for now.
cardiac is good to have as a 1-of.
parker is more reliable than hulk.
I dislike mattie, but since she is fetch fodder with your 3-drop mattie, 1 copy and the rest being DD would be what I'd do.
ok, this helps a lot, thank you. im thinking then dropping the second cardiac for 3-drop spidey. i probably will never play him (especially against sentinal, see search and destroy) but he's good for discard and power-up fodder. since im primarily playing the 3-drop matties, or worst case scenario the cardiac, this logic seems sound. my 6-drops i think will be 2 devil's, 1 mattie, and im putting back my 1 scarlet. i dont need him till turn 7, where as i can play my 7-drop without losing my 4-drop. same with if i have to play cosmic spidey for 8-drop. parker i'll give another shot.
oh, ukyo_rulz: i have enough cards now to try out the mk build you suggested. im still subbing for 4 g-w, 1 esu, and 2 indebted, also i have to resort to moon knight as my 5-drop mk, as well as having to find a replacment for 2 webheads. youd think with a box and a half of mvl this wouldnt be a problem. i think the most sutible replacement though is probably the 2 cardiacs, since they too have an ability to neutralize their 2-drops.
one more problem im having over all: how should i play my 4-drops? i usually grab sensational with may, then play it on turn four, but i still have troulbes figuring out the best timing for his ability on and off initative, that and if i drop him, do i really need to sub in host if my opponent doesn't have concealds out?
the thing you'll learn when you get and use more sensationals is that spidey loves to be substituted with other sensationals against rush. it will win you games. on initiative, see if you can make a safe attack, then exhaust a 3 or less. otherwise, wait for your opponent to make his move. Play in response to things.
also, you know the mattie-attack-pay 2 attack to use effect-evade trick right?
since she has flight, she can attack anyone and exhaust them. that is when you evade her. its a great on-initiative move.

Good to know. The Puppet Master build I posted is a bit harder to play and get used to, but it can shut down combat like nothing else. Without the gift-wrapped (it would be much better if you had Entangles, at least), you may run into some trouble with swarm, but it should still hold off curve decks easily. There's no feeling like getting to turn eight or nine without your opponent having attacked even once.
