Map is of course important in any turn based stategy game. In most cases, it dictates the tempo of the match.

2 tournaments ago, I told Geoff that i don't mind the map choice.....
He used the scrap yard? with HOT Cap and gave my only loss for that tournament...

despite that.....i would still settle with my 3 maps since those are the only ones I got......hehehehe.....
Certain builds really excell at certain maps....sabi nga ni ecchs....mag metropolis theme ka.....malakas ka sa metropolis map.....

I just hope I get to play this weekend....planning to play something "different" just for the sake of it.

I would have to agree also! I think this why you'll rarely see Colossals and those 6x3 Colossals in play! If you field these, your opponent's Thematic team will most likely go first, giving you Maps that will hinder your xtra large footprint... Indoor Maps, Krakoa, Muspelheim.... :speechles

Wolverine was first pick, went to maniladawg... OLATS got SR Ghost Rider from the booster draft... blackdatu won Spider-Man via the raffle.

Despite having two highly competitive figures (Nightcrawler, Professor X), X-Men teams only won once against Avengers/SHIELD teams. With Nightcrawler rotating out of Modern Age, I'm guessing the X-Men theme will lose some of its competitiveness.

Also, OLATS and I saw the potential in a Quasar/Nick Fury/Infinity Gauntlet (I'm sure others have too) but it's a big investment. Too bad WoS Iron Man will also be retired soon - I think WoS Iron Man/Nick Fury/40 point Gauntlet allows for more support.

I would have to agree that Nightcrawler would be a big loss for X-men themes but i if I may say so, it's not the end.....being an x-men fan and all....

I really envy those who were able to play since I would have really favored playing a Brotherhood or x-men theme......over the avengers

Since the Gauntlet can be assigned to a different character at the start of each match, the current Battle Report sheet can't accomodate that info, so I don't know who was wielding the Gauntlet on all of the matches. For me, it was Nightcrawler, Quasar, and Professor X, respectively.

Then we've been ruling it wrong then. Don't you remember this happening during one of the IG events? Nadiscuss lang sa akin ito dun eh.
