What's all this about Flashpoint? Worth reading? How about the spinoffs?
Didn't read the main story but as far as spinoffs go:
Booster Gold (4 issue tie-in in his book) - Disappointing story that was a terrible way to end the series
Grodd of War (One Shot) - One of the best one and dones I've read this year and you can just treat it as an Elseworlds if you don't want to check out any more Flashpoint.

Well yeah, but it isn't Dan Jurgens' or Booster Gold's fault that this was the end of the series.
It's disappointing because the ending is tied into a big event book that isn't any fun and because Booster has to be all serious because he's fighting Doomsday.
Booster is still a likable character, which is more than 90% of Flashpoint has going for it. It is my least favorite arc of the series, though.

Not at all. It's pretty much like "Professor Zoom went back in time and killed the Flash's Mom. Flash went back in time and saved her. Somehow, this causes a whole new universe where Superman wears blue jeans and Hawk, Dove and everyone they interact with never manage to quite look like human beings.

So if we go back in time and kill the Flash's mom, the reboot will never happen?

Not quite.
We start in timeline 1, then someone from the future goes to the past and changes something, creating timeline 2. Now, if we go back to the past and stop whatever it is that caused timeline 2 to appear, we actually create timeline 3, in which someone tried to change the timeline but failed. Now, if we go back to the past and make timeline 2 to become available again, we actually create timeline 2b, since we're not the same as the one guy from the future. Alternatively we could go back in time to prevent ourselves from causing timeline 3 to appear, creating timeline 3b. We could consider timeline 2b to be timeline 4, and 3b to be timeline 5, but I feel adding numbers and letters together makes it easier to see from which timeline the new timeline diverges.

Haven't been very active in games lately, because I seem to have the flu or something and have been sleeping for an average of 13 hours per day for the past several days. Feeling a little better today and trying to get caught up.

Oh yeah, I place almost all of the blame on DC. Just because I didn't like the ending, I didn't forget about the good stories that came before it.
Are there any good collections of early Wonder Woman comics available at a reasonable price?
How early? If to want Golden Age onwards there are the Showcase Presents series. They're b&w but huge and cheap (or you can go DC Archives for colour and quality but not as many stories per volume and much pricier).
The Perez post-CoIE reboot has assorted collections at standard TPB prices.

The Golden age stuff. It should start at the very beginning.
I don't have a lot of time for posting today but wanted to take a moment to warn folks of "an impending personality change in games" so I maybe don't have to fight and explain in every one.
Noted on here I'd gotten checked in to the ER the other day. It was kind-of a stupid reason and I had a good idea of what it was so I wasn't going much into details - kidney stones (my first time which, fortunately, means it's the worst and should be better in future incidents). Most hospitals want first-timers to check in for controlled pain management (as they do reach high enough thresholds to cause the body to go through shock) but I was on the road traveling and figured I'd just take care of myself for a day or so while someone else came out to help my father and me travel home (his health limits his driving which is why I was out there; coincidentally part of his problem was he'd just had surgery for kidney stone removal about a week prior).
What I didn't take into account was my neurological disease - the one that put me down a few years back - and the stones made that problem somewhat uncontrollable. So it foiled my plans of doing this without more medical aid.
The big "fun" came early this morning where it appears I may have had a heart attack - still waiting on labs - and am "gearing up" for another one (again, waiting on labs). We're thinking it's just due to basic bodily trauma/strain as my heart is, traditionally (knock on wood/my skull - same thing), pretty good shape.
So, is this going somewhere or am I just looking for sympathy? Yes, there is a legit purpose. I'm thinking I may mellow and be less vocal/aggressive in games for awhile. Just wanted to warn people so I don't start having to argue too much because "Rokk's acting awfully silent. He must be scum because that's not like him." It is going to be like me - at least for a bit - provided I'm wise enough to stick with the plan.
Time for a 12-lead check so I need to go but also wanted to say I'm very sorry to all the mods for my lack of participation the last few days.
