I just looked at Darkseid. He's gonna be brutal to face. The Boom Tube SP is downright nasty, he's got Unoutwittable Mastermind and high attack/PB/Outwit. This one is a bit different from the Crisis one. The Crisis one had up front reducers, but with Mastermind, you don't need them. The older one had better range (slightly), and the awesome Omega Beams SP, which this one doesn't have. However, the Crisis version had no immunity to Outwit and wasn't able to push without taking damage (until mid dial), which this one has. This new one also has a higher attack up front, and Mind Control (it could be handy, you never know). I like both equally, since both dials offer something different.
The Ever Growing Trickster and Pied Piper KO List!
U Ganthet, Labcoat Beast, Cap and Bucky
Not removing this until we get Clock King and The Rose-01/23/11
Come on, NECA-Marvel Horror Theme Set 2011!
Susan "Zuzu" Olivia Emerson arrived on September 16, 2011 at 2:28 PM EST weighing 7 pounds and 15.2 ounces measuring 20 3/4 inches long =]
Yay and hearty congrats!
And when that day comes for her to ride her first trike, the Frank Capra fan in me hopes you will make like good ol' George Bailey and rave about "Zuzu's pedals!"
Mazel tov!
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!

I think the old one was better. Outwit AND Perplex, and the Omega Beams special powers is to this day one of the strongest and most versatile powers in the game. For 57 points less he could do arguably more. That's not to say I don't like the new one though. I do and I'm really looking forward to playing him if I come across one or he ends up not being worth money.
Actually, now that we've seen a few more dials and all of the characters, what do you ogres think will be the money super rare now? Still thinking Darkseid? Could it be one of the Flashpoint figures? I don't know anything about those characters.

All mastermind does is move them around. If you start the game with 20 clicks of life, I don't care if you assign the 4 clicks I just gave you to another character since either way you are now 16 clicks from losing.
I look at this another way-- Mastermind lets me decide what *you* are doing on *your* turn. Sure, those clicks are being taken-- but by whom? And Did you just expend your best assault to harm a piece that doesn't matter thsi turn? Or better, who just got to his better clicks as a result? Or somebody that can be healed easily? All that makes a big difference.
And then there's pogs.
Best of all, though, is that it's automatic, and in this case, unoutwittable. No penetrating gets around it, no shield disruptor, no meteor, no exploit weakness. Just Pulse Wave, the granddady trump card. And you can bet your ### that I am going to deal with that first if I see it on the board.

It's not even always "I started with 20 and now I have 16". Quite often it's "I started with 20 and now I have 18 or 20 instead of 16 because you just hit my Impervious guy even though you didn't want to". There are A LOT of reasons, most of which Mouse just covered, that being able to dictate where damage goes is a great strategy.
Darkseid is synonymous with Parademons. If your opponent was wasting time sniping Parademons while Darkseid is still kicking, it would be poor play. FORCING opponents to play poorly is one of the best things you can do in a game.

I like the combination of elements on the new Darkseid, yet it still leaves me interested in using the Crisis one, too, depending on my mood. The Crisis one with Fortitude and Brilliant Tactician would still be fewer points, but each still has its appeal.
The Boom Tube SP is terrific.
This remains one of the four SRs from this set I'm really hoping to pull -- Swamp Thing, Black Adam, Darkseid & Queen of Fables.
