I've never been in a Popeye's. While I've seen one in a mall, it wasn't at a time when I was looking for something to eat. To be frank, at least in this part of PA, they tend to be located in neighborhoods where I'd rather not stop any longer than a traffic light demands.
This has been my experience exactly. Possibly, this explains why Beckett, Lackey and Lester had it delivered to them in the Red Sox clubhouse.

Well, this, too, had been my experience --- until recently.
For a long time, I would watch ESPN and wonder about all the Sonic commercials, pushing a place nowhere to be found in my extended area of Long Island, NY.
But one day not too long ago, I ended up driving south on Route 231/Deer Park Avemue in the Deer Park/North Babylon area and thought I'd died and gone to Heaven for fast food junkies. One after another, I passed...McDonald's (more than one), Nathan's Famous, KFC, White Castle, Burger King, Taco Bell, Checker's and Wendy's, plus numerous pizza and Chinese takeout places (and most likely, one or more chain eateries I've left out).
But what really caught my eye was a SONIC (!!!) and Buffalo Wild Wings. Holy Crow...I'd never seen either one before that.
Turns out that particular Sonic represents the first to open in the Metro-New York area. But I have no idea when I'll be able to try it. In speaking with a friend at a venue where I play when my schedule permits (which is hardly ever now), he gave that Sonic a great review, but admitted that he'd waited TWO HOURS to place and get his order!
So much for the "fast food" angle...
As for my own observations, now that I've passed it several more times at various hours on different days of the week...the wait to get into the parking lot is more than merely challenging. Whether the reason is due to the layout of the parking lot or the attraction of car hops....the traffic spillback onto this busy roadway seems to be a regular -- and dangerous -- thing.
As so often is the case in this life, it comes down to one question: How badly do you want it? Hmmm. Admittedly, I'm curious, but I don't think I want to risk an accident for a burger and shake.

Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!
Don't know but I have read a lot of negative posts about him in GD. Never met the dude or talked to him on this site, so I have no opinion. Just a lot of hostile people.
Do any ogres have experience with dying their hair? I've been meaning to dye my hair for a couple of years now, but I never get around to figuring out what to do. Any frame of reference for how much maintenance is involved?
I go with whatever grows out of my skull.
Sometimes I yank the white ones when I see them, but they're getting to be too many for that anymore.

Huh. Not really seeing the grounds for hate, but maybe there's something I don't know.
Now a certain OTHER Worlds winner, well...I can get THAT hate.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
I know my regular venue has about 14-15 extra cases right now. This is crazy as it is fairly well known that for the first month or so he only charges $150 for a case and product flies off the shelf. He is a fairly new shop owner so he's concerned and so am I about these kinds of practices and what it does to his shop. That's nearly $1,300 worth of his money collecting dust. He's a great shop owner and he puts his own neck out on the line regularly for his customers.
If I could get down there, I might be crazy enough to take a Brick of that action.
Thanks, Jerry --- you're my go-to guy in Ogre Land when it comes to WoW minis (most of which aren't really so "mini" when placed next to your typical clix or Star Wars mini)!

The sales already over, so it wouldn't be at the $75 brick/$150 case price. He might make an exception of do a deep discount to get rid of some, though.
