What have you thought about these last few sets? I've been really digging them, but I'm in an area that no one is playing currently so it's basically been just Arena for me, but I have really enjoyed their designs as of late.
I don't really know how to feel about their Warhammer 40K stuff coming out, but I trust them enough not to judge a set before it comes out.
I can't really comment on it because I haven't played anything in the past year and a half. When I do play it is commander with friends. There are always cards that will work in commander and cards worth trying out. I miss being able to play in pre-release events because in sealed anything can happen, but I also think the fun and possible builds in these events is a decent indicator of how good a set it.

I think somewhere buried in my garage are my MTG cards from Ice Age to I think the Tempest sets. I loved those Slivers and the Queen.
Ice Age was the set that made me quit the game for the first time. I really did not like that set especially after Fallen Empires had so many art variants of the same card. When I got back in the game I did enjoy those slivers too and they brought them back for another set.
If you have stuff from Tempest and around that time those cards are pretty hot right now because the people at MTG are not going to reprint some of those old cards.

Now I got curious and looked up some of my old cards and their prices. Holy Guacamole! some cards just exploded and are 10x more than they were about a year ago. That's some crazy stuff. I hope it is not just some weird value bubble.

It seems to have started when stimulus checks started hitting. Likely more people were buying cards, so the merchants started going up in price because of demand. I found out a bunch of my stuff had gone up in value (not quite as much as yours though), so I did some of the biggest trades of my life financially before I left Colorado. Finally got some cards I never thought I would own, which was pretty cool. Too bad I never draw them.
In general, I don't have much respect for the Rock and Roll HOF.
That aside, I don't see one weak spot on that list of artists.
I never see if there is a weak spot I try to think about who has made a contribution that still echoes to this day. For example I can defnitely see why RATM can get in but are they the best representation at the moment for what they did or is there someone who precedes them that is more deserving. With that thought Fela Kuti fits better in that slot instead of RATM.
While I would be very biased to say that Iron Maiden should be in because of their breadth of albums, stage show, and tours was something that was unparalleled except probably by Kiss or Alice Cooper preceding them.
When it comes out in the end I think it is "who is the best draw to the museum". When I went to the museum YEARS ago they had some cool stuff. I was most impressed with one of Billy Gibbons's cars, Pink Floyd's wall and teacher inflatable, and the Sgt Pepper outfits. Other than seeing a baseball game, not much else to do in Cleveland at that time.

What cards did you get? That Gilded Drake was on my list for a few years and I never had a chance to pull it when I play.

The main ones that I was excited for was a Dockside Extortionist ($44 when I traded for it, now up to about $50) and Doubling Season ($70 when I traded for it, now up around $80), but I had such a massive haul cause I traded a lot of extra stuff that apparently shot up in price for a bunch of random stuff I wanted, but those two cards are things I just imagined I was never seriously going to own.
But to be fair, the reason I likely don't draw things that I want is that I change commander decks basically every week, so what I want varies wildly from week to week.

Me: Who is Fela Kuti? What did they do?
extrapolation: How is this Fela person more relevant for bringing social awareness to the masses than RATM...who are still being talked about today?
Phant: When it comes out in the end I think it is "who is the best draw to the museum"
Me: Exactly
extrapolation: Phant is occassionally right, and should agree with me more often.
