I have a great friendly even themed team i want to use this afternoon for the tournament.
My only concern is if i see a Chanos or Colossal being played at around the 600 range i may as well not bother playing with them.
I hope people dont go cheesy with this.... Sundays IG5 event was fun even with a non chase thanos being played but as soon as i saw that Chase Thanos i was like yeh im screwed...
Fingers crossed for a fun IG5 Event this afternoon.
- Chaos War sealed event as well as Infinity Gauntlet #6.
-Because we have had quite a few sealed events recently I would like to mix this one up a bit. The recommended format for the IG6 event is 400pts theme. So depending upon what people want we will either have :-
- Standard 300pt sealed, or
- 400 pt sealed, or
- 300pt one pack sealed one pack draft, or
- 400 pt one pack sealed one pack draft.
Big daddy suggested the last as a good compromise between the sealed + draft format - if you got big figs in your first sealed booster then you can hunt for smaller in the next and vice-a-versa.
Thursday 26 July - "I don't think you realise the gravity of this situation!"
Lets have another crack at this one.
Points: 300
Build: All of your figures must come from gravity feed or countertop display sets.
Prize support will be the new Tank Turret super heavy object!

The week after we will have Infinity Gauntlet 6
Is it modern or golden age? (ie feats or no? what special objects can we use?)
Same as the last time we tried to run this format. Modern age, any modern age special objects can be used. Lord of the rings figures from the display set can be used, as can Gears of War and Street Fighter
I've decided to go with a sealed event for this month, , to compensate for the launch that many people missed I duspect that IG7 will be a sealed, as it corresponds to the launch month for CW, so if so we'll swap and make that one the constructed.
So, for this week:
Points: 400
Build: Chaos War sealed.
Prize support: The Collector, and every player gets a Reality gem!
The game went off well - the extra 100pts allowing for a bit more flexibility in team building than we usually have.
Coming in first was Big Daddy with only an all-right team of Victoria Hand, Ant-man, Binary and Hawkeye. There were certainly better teams on the field on the day - but most importantly his strategy and his dice didn't desert him (for once ). He played the team well especially making up for some of its handicaps (Binary can't fly!!!). Being able to field a theme team stood him in good stead because those times his opponents dice worked he invariably made them fail.
Second was Terry with the unspoken and support - Egghead, Donald Blake and an Ironman Drone. He had some big wins but his dice deserted him in his middle game and Tom's team smacked him into the ground.
Third was Matt with a powerhouse of a team -Sentry with Donald Blake to heal him and Sharon Carter to stealth him. His downfall was in the first game against Big Daddy when he lost by 3 points!
Fourth was Paddy With a Hawkeye/Hawkeye/Mockingbird team with Cap and a Wasp. He had the first bye but was smacked around in the second game by Ares but managed to come back against Sentry/Void in the last game.
Thomas had a simple team of Genis-Vell and Thor which worked quite well, much better than he originally thought it would. He won his first two games but came up against Big Daddy in the final and may as well have thrown his dice down the stairs for all the good they did him, ie he played well but his dice didn't.
Next was Jason with an Ares team and *cough* Avengers (Great Lakes and West Coast count don't they?). The first game he played against pat was one of manoeuvres and counter manoeuvres ending (unfortunately) in no figures being KO'd. So a roll off left him with a win. He smacked Padddy around in the next game but Sentry ripped Ares in half in the last game.
Pat was next using Kang and Zemo and others. He had that great game with Jason but the horrible roll-off loss. He got the bye in the second and beat Radha in the last.
Glen was next with a team based around Taskmaster and the Wasp. In his first game he looked at Tom's figures and realised most of his characters could not hurt Tom's. Then when he attacked with those figures who could hurt Tom's he found no they actually couldn't hurt him after all He beat Radha in the next game but the Unspoken shut him down in the last one.
Ben pulled the Sentry/Void chase- so he won before he even started Unfortunately his luck went downhill from there He beat Jarrett in the first game despite rolling two critical misses, one on his first attack of his first round. He came up against Big Daddy and Paddy and though he didn't roll more critical misses, he didn't roll much higher either.
Jarret was next with a team of Genis -Vell, Max Fury and Wonderman. He was smashed by Sentry/Void in the first game and by just the Sentry in the next and had to have a rest in the third (a bye).
Lucky last was Radha who was able to make a sweet little Avengers team of Wonderman, Thor, Sharon Carter and Tony Stark. She played them well and used them as she should have but just couldn't land a hit. I'm not sure she hit once in the first game and she retired dice set after dice set to try to get some luck but none would come her way. Well actually some did - she faced all of this with a smile on her face and the pleasant attitude she almost invariably comes to the games with. So for that she was awarded the Fellowship prize, and well deserved too.

Build: Golden Age. Compose your team from your favourite comics characters. No theme teams can be formed (well, you can make a theme team, but all you'll get is a pat on the back, not any of the usual perks:P)
As an example, my horribly innfective team full of a bunch of my favourites is as follows:
WS027 X-23,WS029 Wolfsbane,SI012 Gee,SI015 Energizer,SI013 Lightspeed,GX016 Aaron Stack,GX050 Armor,HA041 Molly Hayes,
IH027 Amadeus Cho

Maybe I should have made it 1000 points so i could fit in more of runaways and nextwave, but oh well
I command for there to be an odd number of players showing up so I get to play with this team:P loves them I do
- 500pts Silver Age, at least 250pts must be from the Chaos War or the Infinity Gauntlet sets.
Because of how the set came out and that the last couple of sets sold out reasonably quickly we decided to switch around last rounds IG event and this one. I also thought it would be fun to play Silver Age because with all the Modern age we've been playing, most people have not really had a chance to use feats with the new figures.
This is, of course, the penultimate IG event.
Modern age - Only Modern age figures, no feats, no battlefield conditions Silver age - Only Modern age figures but feats and battlefield conditions are allowed Golden age - Any figures, feats and battlefield conditions are allowed
- I am going to take a leaf out of cap'n Dave's book and not conduct the final round until the actual prize support is in our hands - just in case.
Instead, due to the IG frippery we missed tax time so instead we will have :-
Tax brackets
.... plus tax returns
- build a 6 figure, Golden Age force which must include a figure from each bracket :-
- 0 to 50 pts
- 51 to 100 pts
- 101 to 150 pts
- 151 to 200 pts
- 201 to 250 pts
- 251 to 300 pts
Plus it is time for your tax returns, and everybody gets a return! So each figure may have two feats asigned to them (points do not count towards the category value). Each feat must be different to each other, ie 12 different feats on your team.
- 3 battlefield conditions
The tax returns are of course the feats but they are also relics/objects as well - each player will be fighting for objects on the map. The sunday group have some stray relics from times past and this may be a good format to hand them out.
Modern age - Only Modern age figures, no feats, no battlefield conditions Silver age - Only Modern age figures but feats and battlefield conditions are allowed Golden age - Any figures, feats and battlefield conditions are allowed
I was wondering if anyone has a Lockjaw (Fantastic Forces #3, Vet) for trade? If you don’t have a Vet I would be interested in the experienced or rookie instead.
