I'll go with the same team I had in TVK's Theme League: The Avengers, Busiek/Perez era

Working entirely from memory, that Avengers era included the following as members:

1. Cap
2. Thor
3. Iron Man
4. Scarlet Witch
5. Justice
6. Quicksilver
7. Vision
8. Giant Man
9. Warbird
10. Jarvis

Also: Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Wasp, Wonder Man, Firestar, Duane Freeman, and in the extremely unlikely event that they are clixed--Triathlon and Silverclaw.

I need to make one change to my roster-I just realized in the shower this morning the REAL reason Rokk suggested I take Ralph over Carter. D'oh! It takes awhile for my stroke-brain to catch up, but catch up it will! So I will take Ralph over Carter (goodbye team dynamics but I'm thinking of having Aquaman take over that role...) so that the the Golden Age JSA can have their longest serving Chairman Available.

I was all set to argue that if people weren't going to play a certain figure in their progression, like I wasn't going to play V Origin Hawkman, then I could upgrade through it to get to the Duo with Atom (not that it's all that. But I would play it once just to say I did. But that's when the light when off and I realized why Rokk wanted me to have Ralph).


As for who we draft, As everyone says, its about having fun and since this is 'one and done", and we have 2 ways of upgrading, I'm still saying you can grab up to the most expensive R to start. So, in my case, I start with R Icons Batman, but I can play with anyone below that level. This is because we have progressions that are 5 or 6 figure long.


But to answer Rokk's question, my pre-game is going to have all three AE's. I haven't decided if they are going to be the LE's and they can't chang, or just the straight AE's and they HAVE to change. I have the bare idea of the scenerio thought out in the shower (yes, I take long showers and do my best thinking there, we do you ask, pervert?)
and while I was thinking League vs.LOD seems to be the logical choice, I'm thinking the LOD will work behind the scences to start.

not sure about Quick Silver I think he just popped up from time to time in the book to visit Wanda. but....

R Batb Brainiac, your first upgrade will unlock the Duo, then the next, the U from Icons. We'll just ignore the REV from HT unless you were planning on playing it?

REV Cheetah from Icons. It may not be Priscilla in name, but the costume is the same, and Debbie's her niece after all. Close enough, especially if we are going to allow gust-stars (which I don't mind as long as it was in print). This is the Silver Age Cheetah, and the LOD is Silver Age so it fits for me.

If enough object, I'll change my mind, but for me, this is how I see both of these.

Just like Alex and Lorna would be fine for an X-Men team pre-Krakatoa and Cloak and Dagger would be okay with the Runaways.

Giganta or Grundy?

Grundy is just such good MM fodder.

Remember that folks are picking teams now only.

If you wanted a new warriors squad I'm sure you could talk to doombot and see if he'd be willing to let you grab the piece or two you needed to run it.

He's got a ton of options with that team. As does TAK with his.

I've had great success with Giganta every time I've played her. Grundy, while great for storyposting (and remember, while you post them comedically in thread, I will post them more seeriouslly out. Don't feel you have to change them in anyway, please. There is more than enough room for both.), I have never gotten Grundy to work for me.

Truer. If someone wants to run a JLI team, I can always grab Reddy instead of Ralph. Actually I would grab Zee instead of him anyway.

I haven't heard any aye or nay about a mid-season draft or replacement. What's everyone's thoughts, especially those on the Marvel side?

I'm always willing to talk with someone in the case of overlapping claims to a character.

As for the mid-season draft, I'm for it, especially if it happens after Giant-sized X-Men comes out.

What about "place holder spots"? You may not get to start the season with as many active available spots (9 instead of 10) but the 10th is reserved - by name (i.e. - it can't just be "empty", you have to specify for whom it's being held) - for the set's release.

So, say, if someone -really- wanted a Nextwaver (not that I can think of a good team on which they fit, but...) or someone wanted to go Seven Soldiers and have Crimson Avenger on it, the option's there.
